somehow,"season's greetings" or "happy holidays" or "wonderful winter solstice" just doesn't do it for me.

I'm a Merry Christmas type, what about others?

Who cares? A friendly greeting is a friendly greeting. Who would be offended receiving any friendly greeting? Oh -- I forgot about the Fox News "war on Christmas" types eager to stir up any controversy.

just because the PC news outfits do not report on it does not mean its not true. Just do a search on Atheists against Christmas and see what you get. I find it funny that these atheists are against all organized
religion except Islam. but understandable. do not see many Christians cutting off heads of non believers on YouTube.

oh and it is Christmas so what else to say except Merry Christmas.

I get a laugh how they say they are offended by us saying Merry Christmas, but they sure don't mind getting the day off with pay.

I say Happy Holidays, it encompasses Christmas and New Years. Plus a lot of my friends are not Christian. Plus, I am slightly embarrassed when I (used to) wish someone Merry Christmas and they are Jewish

I am with Mani, lets just go with Festivus.
Happy holidays is when I go on holidays during the year and I am very happy about it.
Why would you be embarrassed. If I say Merry Christmas and if I get a different reply I don't get offended

I personally use Merry Christmas and happy New Years. Overly politically correct people have lumped Dec 1st- January 1st into one big holiday. Christmas is it's own holiday. I am of Hebrew ancestry and it totally doesn't offend me. My family celebrates it! It's a major holiday for many people all over the world and I know many people from different religions and countries that celebrate it as well as Hanukah or another religious event. I just can't believe how much controversy it's stirred up over the last few years.

George Carlin didn't explicitly mention Christmas, but I do agree with his standpoint on "soft language", with a few exceptions. ;)

I am a non-Christian and an immigrant. Heck I am totally non-religious and even an atheist.

So what if someone wishes me Merry Christmas? I will take it, with a big smile on my face. :) Heck, I would take any good wish, in any language, of any culture and any religion. You know the best feeling is when strangers wish me Merry Christmas! It is great to receive a friendly wish from senior citizens walking on the sidewalks, people taking elevators, cashiers at the mall and last but not the least, SP's giving me the wishes, soaked in warm wet kisses while seeing me off at the door. :)

Frankly, I think the political correctness gets ridiculous more often than it really should. If saying Merry Christmas makes people happy, smile at each other and bring a sense of community, Great!!!

Merry Christmas everyone. :)
