Will cops raid micros?

Will they wait outside independent sp's incalls and arrest johns?

Will they follow sp's as they do an outcall to a hotel and arrest the john?

Certain aspects of pooning have always been illegal and no one bothered us ... I don't think anything is going to change. Maybe advertising but I don't think Law Enforcement is going to set up special task force units to go out and try and stamp out something they know they can never get rid of as soon as the laws are changed ? Maybe I'm wrong but I think the law was rewritten just to have a 'law' in place after the old one was shot down.

I don't have any data or facts to base it on, but I think there will be a bit of an initial push to enforce the law and then things will calm down. With violent crimes and social issues escalating almost by the month, I don't think the resources or impetus will be there to fight what is ultimately a losing battle for the authorities. It's a generalization, I know. But I don't see these laws changing every dynamic in the industry. I don't think there is cause for widespread panic. Be patient, careful, and see how it plays out. Just my 2 cents.

that's a fair generalization.

I enjoy pooning and I would hate to see LE interfering in it because I want to keep pursuing it. I, honestly am, equally, if not more, concerned with SP's and their income.

Many of them have been doing this for years and are good at it. Esp the older ones. I would hate to see them being hurt in the pocket. May be they should start putting some funds away (I am sure they already have) for "wait and see" period.

Eventually, LE can do all they want, they will NEVER be able to eradicate prostitution. No one has ever been able to do it. Even in the most strict societies. (Some Islamic countries come to mind). It has existed, will always exist, in some form or the other. Two adults meet, money is exchanged for pleasure, ... life goes on. Sadly, it is the exploitation part of the trade that sucks. I would hate to see an innocent lady being forced to work for it in exchange for drug or loan money.

Anyways, I hope the storm comes and passes and we all poon happily everafter!

I also hope that the girls that I have seen so far don't change their phone numbers. I have about 20 of them and I can repeat them over and over, as long as they keep working.

I've never heard of that being published on the City of Vancouver Website. Clearly Gregor is going after the Pooner/Escort Vote. :p I will have to re evaluate my stance on Mayor Moonbeam :D
If you click on Claire's link you will see that chasing hobbyists is not the intention of the City of Vancouver's mandate. Now RCMP are in N Van, Burnaby, Richmond etc and they may or may not have the resources to go after escorts and their clients. I am betting they go after the easy to identify AMP's, Micro Brothels etc.

Our response to the passing of Bill C-36

November 7 2014

Vancouver City Hall
The City is concerned with the passing of Bill C-36, Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act, as research confirms that criminalization of sex workers puts people engaged in sex work at further risk of increased violence.
The passing of Bill C-36:
Undermines the health and safety of sex workers
Increases social exclusion and pushes sex workers to work in more isolated areas
What this decision means for the City going forward
Going forward, the collective focus needs to continue to be on the health and safety of sex workers and the communities that they live and work. The City remains committed to this, and in October 2014, Mayor and Council adopted Vancouver’s Healthy City Strategy, which identifies 13 goals, including:
Safety and inclusion
To promote health and well-being for all
A target to make Vancouver the safest major city in Canada by reducing crimes, including sexual assault, year-over-year
The City will continue to work in partnership with community groups and the provincial government to minimize safety risks and harms for sex workers. This includes:
Addressing all forms of exploitation and abuse
Providing opportunities for education and awareness
Enabling access to health and social service gaps
Creating transitioning opportunities for those seeking to exit
City urged the federal government to refer the proposed legislation to the Supreme Court
In submissions to the Federal Government, the City urged that the proposed legislation be referred to the Supreme Court to ensure its compliance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the spirit of the Bedford Decision: prioritizing the health, safety and dignity of those it’s declared to protect. The City also asked that there be consultation, which previously did not take place, with municipalities across the country on potential impacts.
In 2013 the City provided over $400,000 in grants to 11 community organizations to:
Promote sex worker health and safety
Address child and youth sexual exploitation

I honestly believe they don't, Badger. But there could be some token enforcement initially.

In a way, this could be similar to any campaign started by LE all over the world. I remember years ago they started a campaign about pedestrian safety . There were a few tickets issued, message was conveyed, some ppl listened, paid attention, some didn't... life got back to normal.
I suspect same is true in this one. Cops may be asked to do some field work to appease the lawmakers and you (you as in Badger John) will be free to add to your list till you are way over 100. :)

Fuck me you're right...

Better have a trained carrier pigeon take it to some obscure location

Then with a voice distorter have a blind man write the location in invisible ink that can only be revealed by black light on paper that self-incinerates in sunlight and give it to her with instructions to read it only after I've left the country and had it wiped from my memory by a shaman

This is a very good point. Plenty of laws are passed that nothing is a result of it.. but to be safe I think stay away from BP and other not to reputable places to meet SPs.

Inbetween your Mom's legs...
This bill wouldve done nothing to have prevented robert picton. Only if advertising was illegal then he wouldnt have killed all those people. Wtf?

By openly talking about it, it kept it safe for the providers(violent clients) and kept it safe for the clients(robberies)

Now without being able to publically talk about it, there might be more problems for both the client and provider.

Maybe the logical ppl who run vancouver recognized this. C36 is a morality law pushed on us by puritanical christians.
