... The Canucks are 2nd in the Western Conference, 2 points back from Anaheim with 2 games in hand.

Miller is leading the league in Wins by a Goaltender (8)
Bonino has 9pts in 11GP (7 are even strength)
Luca Sbisa leads the defense in goals scored (2)
Vrbata has 10pts in 11GP
Dorsett has 4pts in 11GP playing 4th line minutes.
Linden Vey has 4G in 11GP (3 PPG)

... Not too shabby for a team that people were screaming for them to tank and rebuild.

They also haven't played any of the elite teams. Very favourable schedule so far.. still impressive that they pulled out some wins though.

Yippie can we start the parade now :p

In all seriousness, the games I have watched were up tempo fast skating events. A few teams showed our lack of speed defensively. I am interested to see what happens vs LA, Anaheim, Chicago because they are the contenders in the West IMHO

Looking good so far,the twins look like they did a few years ago,Miller looks solid and they finally have a 2nd line.Defence looks a little suspect as they are missing a booming shot for the power play, but so far not bad.

They've done very well so far, and they did beat Montreal. Its a 82 game season, no game is worth more than another, points wise. biggest problem i see is if we lose a defense man. We don't have much sitting in the wings. But to be in the position we are, after all that has happened, you have to be happy. The new management has done great job, getting everyone on board.

This road trip gonna be tough. Hopefully Bieksa is OK. Hope the Canucks stay in contention but got enough worries right now with the Rangers defence in crisis mode. Starting 6 right now is Staal, Girardi, Hunwick, Kostka, McIlrath and Conor Allen . McIlrath and Allen making NHL debuts Monday vs. the Blues and Kostka has played 2 NHL games. You definitely need depth on defence in this league.:yield:

SJ and Kings aren't doing so hot, so could work in Canucks favour.
glad to see Bonino fitting in nicely.

What's with Kasquatch? he looks lost out there.

Bo Horvat will make his NHL debut against Colorado on Tuesday after a two week conditioning stint with the AHL Utica Comets.

If he sticks with the big club he will be the first 19 year old roster player for the Canucks since Trevor Linden, if I recall correctly.

Edit: whoops! Nevded, Odjick and Kesler each played a handful of games as 19 year olds.

Still impressive.

I would hate to counter-argue anything that a beautiful lady like hers says.

I think we haven't really played many big tough teams yet. Remember, as soon as the conference was reshuffled last year, we got our bottoms spanked. ( I admit it had something to do with Tortorella's coaching).

We have played four decent teams so far, Dallas, Colorado, Montreal and Nashville and we have won only one (and had our bottoms bootpolished by two) :) I would wait till we face rest of the Pacific Division. Trips to sunny California won't be as much fun for the lads anymore.

Besides the first line has kind of tailed off a bit. I still feel Canucks need one good solid defense man to be competitive.

:)

they've got vrbata quarterbacking the second line while burrows is suspended. they moved bonino up to the first line, and he does ok with the twins, but not as well as vrbata

once burrows is back, they will probably go back to the original line-ups, and hopefully that will generate some magic against the southwestern teams

i agree on the need for a top shelf d-man. things get a little bit scary when bieksa's hurt

Burrows is the driving force for our 2nd line's even strength dominance. Thankfully he will be back for the California swing.

I think Edler has the ability to be that defensman. Or Tanev, both of whom are facing the toughest match ups of the team and prior to last night had not been on the ice for a goal against since the 2nd period of the Colorado game.

Also Washington and Calgary are sitting higher than the divisional last place Avalanche. We've also had St Louis' number for a while now. Just playing devils advocate, haha.

Don't let them get to you Peyton :) I'm looking forward to the Pens game and might be looking for a date ;)
I never say no to a hockey date!

I've been optimistic for the past 44 seasons :-/
Dream on.... never will happen.

The Nuks are the Chicago Cubs of hockey.

For those who don't know, the Cubs haven't won the World Series in 106 years (and counting).
