If anyone`s got a wholesale or discount connection that I can utilise to get a nice laptop at a low cost, I`d appreciate a PM! Thanks!:eyebrows:
Microsoft Surface has a keyboard as an add on, in fact all tablets do but Microsoft has a really good feel to it. If you're ever in Metrotown head into the mall onto the Microsoft store. Otherwise, Stooples has occasional deals.I don't like tablet interfacing. I really am old-school and prefer a keyboard, or at least a keypad! I'd consider going back to Mac with a MacBook Pro if I could get one cheap enough.
Windows operating on Macs: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_USAre Macbooks still dual boot with Wiindows? I used to say to people only buy Apple computers f you have friends or colleagues who also have Apple. Personally, I love the look of the Apple PCs but I find them way overpriced, even used. I believe you are still forced to upgrade your PC due to software and hardware compatibility.
Just bought a Lenovo at FS for my in-laws. Great value for $. Intel i5. They have a few really good deals on their refurbed units (another Lenovo with Touch screen, 10gb RAM and 1TB HD). Check their website but also make sure you check the processor. While I have traditionally been okay with AMD CPU's, the newer i3 and i5 series from Intel are better (IMO YMMV).If anyone`s got a wholesale or discount connection that I can utilise to get a nice laptop at a low cost, I`d appreciate a PM! Uhhhh, there are easier ways to (ditch the clock radio and) get music into your boudoir, but I'm glad you've come up with a solution you're happy with!Much to my surprise....I bought an all in one desktop that is lightweight enough to carry easily around the house...say, from the living room couch where I am sitting now up the stairs to my boudoir so I can now have appropriate music streaming for you! No more crappy clock radio sound! The new Windows 8 is really easy to learn, but this new Multilingual Windows Keyboard has some extra keys I keep hitting by mistake! At least now I should be able to figure out how to type properly in French!![]()
I've been Mac since 1985 (yeah, really). Unfortunately, they don't always last that long. Had a MacBook back in 2007 that died after 15 months (motherboard went), and the MacBook Air I bought for my SO developed major screen-problems after about 15 months. So, their reliability isn't what it used to be. And of course I didn't have the extended warranty on either given the track record of trouble free heavy use I've experienced in the past. But, I don't think that is the norm. Yes, most Apple products do last for years and so the higher cost upfront is pay off. The replacement MacBook I bought in 2007 is still running.MacBook Air refurbished through Apple.ca
Great deals and you won't have to replace your laptop every 3-4 years
I have networked a few for my biz and if all you need is basic word processing and email; you won't need to buy additional SW. I am still using a MacBook from Dec 2008. Longest lasting laptop I have owned. Toshiba, HP, Sony etc all crapped out in 2 - 3 yrs .
