so, this came to me from an sp who didn't want to report herself.
there is NO vancouver police task force on prostitution and certainly no joint effort with edmonton. please remember ladies and do not fall into this trap. he wants to get into your place and then will undoubtedly ask for service to not "report" you.
if you are an indy worker working from home you are NOT breaking any laws. any claim of being police or charges being possible are a lie. if this guy really had a warrant to serve, he would have been at her door with a bunch of officers.
here's the message;
Hi Susi,
In light of the recent events the call I just received creeped me out, and I figured you would be the person to mention it to. The person called from an Edmonton number (760)705-8888 this number doesn't work to call back. The person sounded in their 40s, and it sounded like there was a bit of background noise. He started the conversation off by saying that he was calling from the VPD task force and had complaints about a prostitution ring and that he would like to ask me questions about that. I right away called him on the fact that it was an Edmonton number and then he said that it was the Edmonton joint task force and had to cooperate with them and that he had a search warrant to come search my property. He was very official sounding.. calling me m'aam. I told him that he was full of it and that someone was prank calling and I hung up. I tried to call the number back, as I was going to threaten him with the actual police..but it says the call won't go through. This was very creepy.
