Well, you have a point, even art has to be paid for by someone...imagine shipping a few thousand pounds around the world. Even if it's "non-profit!"Who paid for this piece of painted scrap metal?
Is anybody else completely blown away by the road work on Highway 1? I am. It's happening so fast...every day, there seems to be incredible progress...
The North Shore can be rough but I can't say it has gotten that much worse in the 15+ years I have lived there. The price point to live and buy there obviously prevents it from being the growing community that exists east of the Port Mann which has grown ridiculously in that same 1 year period.

ound:I heard on the radio that alot of the transport trucks are avoiding the Port Mann bridge and using the Pattullo instead. Surrey mayor says that's a problem since the Pattullo cannot accommodate the high volume of big truck transports; i am thinking especially since the lanes are so darn narrow. Does anyone know how much traffic volume has decreased on the new Port Mann bridge and how much has increased on the Pattullo?

hah! it was paid for twice actually...
it was built as a private bridge to service the residents of the guiness family's new residential district, the 'british properties'
after the guiness family recouped their investment in the bridge, the provincial government decided it would be a good idea to buy it so they did, but left the tolls on until they had recouped what they had spent to acquire it
and the tollpayers took it up the arse again... as they usually do, lol

At the last paragraph of the article it sounds like things are going to go from bad to worse, unfortunately. Sorry for the bad news people, i'm just a messenger. For me this affects my hobbying choices; i would like to visit ladies outside my area, but this deters me from doing so.

not to put too fine a point on it pardner... you are full of bullshit!!
You have to take in consideration when your are also criss crossing over the GVRD area for non-related hobby trips (maybe crossing a number of bridges); plus if they start charging fees to access the Highways thru the off ramps, it adds up over time. It can make quite a difference over the long run.
I'll go anywhere to get laid but if I have to travel to Vancouver or out to the valley, the minimum session time I will have is 1.5 hours, otherwise it isn't worth the trip (I live in Surrey FYI)I've heard lots of guys say they won't cross a bridge to get laid.
Same here. Rule of thump, appointment duration has to be > or = to driving time to make the trip worthwhile. That is why I rarely do 1/2 hr and never B'nG
