Well, you have a point, even art has to be paid for by someone...imagine shipping a few thousand pounds around the world. Even if it's "non-profit!"Who paid for this piece of painted scrap metal?![]()
The North Shore can be rough but I can't say it has gotten that much worse in the 15+ years I have lived there. The price point to live and buy there obviously prevents it from being the growing community that exists east of the Port Mann which has grown ridiculously in that same 1 year period. The North shore is bad, the Tunnel is worse. Time to spiff the south side next. Massey tunnel twin or something.
Is anybody else completely blown away by the road work on Highway 1? I am. It's happening so fast...every day, there seems to be incredible progress...
Young lady, where have you been? They have been working on this project since early 2009.
Did you just notice last week?
OK, I guess you guys win! I don't use the highway often but I am still blown away by the goings on!huny where have you been and guess where you're going?ound:
Thanks Ms. Sarah. I was thinking also of commuters who's daily experiences over the bridges would like to share. On the noon news, they said truck traffic had increased around 30% on the Pattullo. That's a lot more trucks ... They had a lot more info but I wasn't paying attention. Will be on again tonight at 5pm on Global I'm sure.
hah! it was paid for twice actually...I think the Lions Gate was paid for by tolls as well. 1937 - 1963. 25 cents for a car in 1937 would have been pretty expensive!
give me a break... you spend 120 to 160 on the poon and 3 to 10 dollars on the parking and another 10 to 15 on the gas. so another 3 dollars on the tolls are going to 'affect your hobbying choices'?At the last paragraph of the article it sounds like things are going to go from bad to worse, unfortunately. Sorry for the bad news people, i'm just a messenger. For me this affects my hobbying choices; i would like to visit ladies outside my area, but this deters me from doing so.
"The Pattullo Bridge is slated for a replacement, but TransLink first has to find the money to pay for it. Metro Vancouver mayors have pitched the idea of a road pricing policy — which potentially could see tolls on all roads and bridges — to generate revenue for TransLink."

You have to take in consideration when your are also criss crossing over the GVRD area for non-related hobby trips (maybe crossing a number of bridges); plus if they start charging fees to access the Highways thru the off ramps, it adds up over time. It can make quite a difference over the long run.give me a break... you spend 120 to 160 on the poon and 3 to 10 dollars on the parking and another 10 to 15 on the gas. so another 3 dollars on the tolls are going to 'affect your hobbying choices'?

I'll go anywhere to get laid but if I have to travel to Vancouver or out to the valley, the minimum session time I will have is 1.5 hours, otherwise it isn't worth the trip (I live in Surrey FYI)I've heard lots of guys say they won't cross a bridge to get laid.

Same here. Rule of thump, appointment duration has to be > or = to driving time to make the trip worthwhile. That is why I rarely do 1/2 hr and never B'nGI'll go anywhere to get laid but if I have to travel to Vancouver or out to the valley, the minimum session time I will have is 1.5 hours, otherwise it isn't worth the trip (I live in Surrey FYI)
