I had my 2nd visit to Vancouver in 12 days and yet again I was stopped and interrogated at the border again. Left my place a 8:00am or so and put the Fox Den's number in my phone because they were not open til 9:30 I was driving through Bellingham, WA I believe when that time came around and phoned and asked about possibly getting an appointment with either Claire or Amorette Fox. Neither were available but based on my choices she recommended Hennessy and Melody Fox. The lady on the phone talked about how great each one was but finally got here to help me pick when I asked who had a better smile and she said Melody did and I love women with great smiles and so I booked a 12:30 with her.

Arrived at the border and tried to be straightforward with their questions said I was going to Fox Den but the border patrol girl knew nothing about the place it seemed and I left out the fact I was meeting Vanesssa later in the evening. Again was asked to go to the building. Once I saw my interrogator he said he recognized me from last time I was coming through because he was on shift he said. Guess he knew my situation about owning guns and such. I gave me my phone willingly and told him passcode because I got rid of pretty much everything on it.

He asked standard personal questions that I have gotten used to. He also asked about where I was going and I said the Fox Den. He knew about the place, he said you do know that place is where you go to see escorts? And I was like oh it is. And then he asked about me about about 1400 cash on me last time and another 1200 this time and asked what I bought last time and I said I did buy anything if I did, I would shop online and said this money is from what I did not spend last time.

Anyways he thanked me for being honest and I said you no problem and he said I am not flagged in the system or anything it is just the fact I am young, no job but have money on me that makes them suspicious. So he said main things they look for at the border are Drugs, Cash and Guns. I technically fit 2 of those categories just not guns. So I am probably expecting to be stop each time however this time went by within 20-30 minutes compared to the 1 hour and 30 minutes or more I waited last time.

My question for the board: Is there an easy way for an American to get cash in Canada for his hobby without bringing it?

My reviews on Melody Fox and Vanesssa will be coming. Vanesssa = Passionate GFE

well depends on what you define as a pretty penny, I have no fees for atm's on my bank account. Then it depends on what ATm you use, I know in vegas it was about 5 bucks a couple years ago. Not sure now

I'd check your bank what the fees are the the atm's here usually ask you if your willing to pay the fee, around here it can be anywhere from a buck to 8 bucks if your in a nightclub in some places

They charge you pretty good do they not? I have Bank of America if that helps for some advice.
you're spending $350 for a piece of tail at the den then at least $350 at vanesssa's later and you're worried about atm charges?

You openingly state that you come up to Canada to see escorts and it seems on the Canadian side, the border service doesn`t have an issue with it. What do you say to the US border patrol service on the way back to the USA?

I`m wondering given the comments in a recent thread posted in the Lounge about SPs crossing the border.

Living vicariously through myself
I've heard of a few US and Canadian banks that have reciprocal agreements beetween them where you can use their ATMs free of charge when visiting the other country.A friend of mine was using one earlier this year (could have been Bank of America ATMs) in the states with a Scotiabank account here in Canada.
You could check your banks website or local branch to see if they offer this.

On the way back I am yet to get detained and I do not tell them about doing this hobby I just say I was hanging out with a friend. It goes pretty easily. The main thing they seem to be worry about is asking if I was carrying anything back to the states for anyone.

I just don't see why they would think there is something wrong with you having 1200-1400 cash on you, given you are traveling into Canada from the US and seem to be planning to do some touristy stuff. The cutoff amount that they ask about is $10,000.

Even if you exchange into Canadian before you travel, it still shouldn't be a huge issue for Cdn border guards. Next visit, carry the cash you need and then try the ATM (at a reciprocal bank to avoid high fees), and make sure that there is no daily limit that might interfere with you from getting all the cash you know you are going to be paying out before you just go ahead and assume that is a good idea for you.

Your bank will have you set up for some kind of withdrawal limit, so the idea that you can just remove $1200 out of any ATM at one time might not happen. Why not pay for as much as possible by debit or visa, like gas, food, accomodation?, so you can carry less cash, and then take out more cash on the Canadian side.

These are the days where people use debit to pay for a cup of coffee, so that's probably why the border guards think anything more than a couple of hundred in cash is unusual lol

You could also say you have a low credit card limit and the bank won't allow you to pull more than a few hundred per day.... Say you bring enough to last a few days in case and it's easier for you to pay cash....

Badger makes a good point and his assessment was bang on! LOL...

Think about 10yrs down the road when you want to bring your wife and kids up here and they stop you to ask if your seeing any ladies or going to the "Den"...

I have 2 different accounts at my local Credit Union with ATM cards attached. Each has a $500/day limit. I simply go to VanCity CU and am not charged a fee. And, i get a better rate. One time I could not find a VanCity branch, so used a Bank Of Montreal bank ATM. I was charged a $2.50 CDN fee and the exchange rate was not nearly as good as the rate I got from VanCity the day before. Credit Union's rock.

I just do not like giving money away to people who do not need it especially banks
think of the atm charges as the cost of keeping the troopers off yer case... plus if you pay yourself for the time spent being 'interviewed' by agent brown - i'm sure the bank charges would work out to be an inconsequential sum

I'd just tell them you are going to take a special ladyfriend out for lunch and shopping. If it is a male customs guy let him know she's super hot and you're trying to impress her :p
Well Vanesssa I have been unlucky enough to deal with a woman border agent each time. Both sent me for extra inspection I guess Canadian women do not like my charm :(. Maybe I tried to smile a bit much to be honest they were not bad looking definitely date-able.

i like you jds, you don't like banks and you like to tell the truth, your a rare breed. as far as banks go td is a canadian bank with branches in the u.s., you should have little problem pulling $$$$ across the border without excessive services charges. i say this cuz my s.o. likes to save u.s. coin and cash it in when we go south(nobody honors exchange rates on coin). td in new york was happy turn several hundred $$ in us coin into real money for no charge simply because we have a t.d. canadian bank card. other wise we would have been charged a service charge. happy pooning my american bro.

That and he has no job. So basically he's spending money that he doesn't earn and thus far, it hasn't bothered him lol, so what's this about minuscule ATM charges?

That is too far in the future for me to consider and I will hopefully be done within 6 months, hopefully connect with some lovely women make some great connections maybe long term friendships and avoid any STDs in the process then I will be happy with what I have done.

Yeah money does not have real value for me I have never earned a dime I have spent. I have a lot of possessions. I fully own my car I bought new in 2006 not real expensive Honda Civic Si, a motorcycle also purchased new 2009 Yamaha R6, over 30k in firearms my only hobby more expensive then this. Nice clothing only thing I do not have and would of liked is a house but that is asking a lot. So the only concern I really have is having enough to last me until I get into the military and have some consistent income. Which is not much of a problem as long as I do not spend more than 10k in the next 6 months on the lovely ladies of Canada :D
