The economics of SPs is hard to understand.

In Thailand, when it slows down, the girls LOWER their rates to attract customers.

In Brazil, the girls RAISE their rates to make up for lost income.

Go figure.

There are smart business people out there and then there are the not so smart and at the end of the day this is a business unfortunately many locals don't treat it as a pure business and don't understand customer service is everything.
Back in the day when Eatons started to struggle they spent several million on an outside company to analyse and develope a business plan for them. That planned was filed away and not one point acted on and where is Eatons today!
Too many just don't get it; Customer Service and Price Point is the game ESPECIALLY in our fair city!

Ahmen brother! Let's start a club! Who wants to join us? Of course, somebody has to come up with a snazzy name!

Because this has never been tried before. What is the outcome? Not one difference. Your local rates go from 200 to 300, in spite of all the calls for boycotts, and conspiracies to attempt to drive prices down again.

The most likely reason for the rate increases is that these sps simply cannot afford to work at 200/hr any more. Expenses, not to mention the worth-it-factor. There is a rate at which the work is no longer worth it. I imagine that 200/hr is that place for many sps. It is what it is, if you can't afford it, get out of the game or work out a way to see an sp at the rate you can afford. This usually means that you scale back your expectations, not lobby to drive down pricing.

If you don't know what you are going to get from an sp who charges more, then ask to see her at your 'try out' rate whatever that might be, get a half hour visit and find out for yourself.

I don't know why some people expect the sps to make all the concessions, when they aren't willing to do anything themselves as well. In negotiations, everyone gives a little and loses a little in the transactions. Most of what I see here with rate complaints is an unwillingness of you to give something up. In most cases, this would be time. Someone might be wiling to do a 45 session at your preferred price of 200, so make a deal, a real deal, and stop living in the past regarding rates.

Imho, an easy way to support your local talent, is to review them. Hobbyists, who travel, really seem to appreciate current reviews. It’s your words that spread our reputation. I have a noticeable increase in business from travelers every time I get a review. Sometimes they contact me weeks in advance, we have time to flirt & get to know each other a bit. It’s fun, and I feel really appreciated when this happens. So, even if your fav is well known in Winnipeg, give her a review & spread the word.

As for lowering rates, well I do offer an Early Bird discount on morning appointments. It seems to be much appreciated & a hell-of-a-lota fun. Certainly not cost effective to do all the time, but then specials aren’t meant to be your main business model. Specials are designed to attract new customers, & show appreciation to existing ones. My original concern was that clients would see the Early Bird rate as their new rate & always want it. That hasn’t happened; instead I get Timmys & sometimes a tip. Works for me!! Xoxoxo, Porscha

Jesus Christ take a deep breath and lighten up FFS. His post was obviously tongue-in-cheek and you don't need to post your rant in every thread about rates.

If you took 10 minutes to read the thread you would see that many of us here have basically slowed way down because we don't feel like what we are being offered is worth it to us. It's our right to NOT poon if we don't feel we are getting fair value. Winnipeg is not Toronto or Vancouver, there is not nearly the population base here and not nearly as much disposable income. Have you even been here?

Part of the problem is also the fact that in Montreal, a lot of girls offer rates that are half of the $$$ that some people charge here. So some of those girls come to winnipeg to charge $$$ cause they can't get that rate anymore in Montreal.
That is why there are some guys looking at travelling there.
