I am considering trying out P90x or Insanity...just wondering if anyone has tried either one with success??? Or another workout program??

FYI - I am not interesting in going to the gym everyday...waste of time and money IMO!

If you are not already fit then insanity is not for you. I would recommend maybe Suzanne Summers or Jane Fondas workout videos for starters. :thumb:

The best workout program is something you know you'll stick with! Figure out what you like to do...kick-boxing, yoga, dancing, swimming, jogging, racquet ball? It doesn't matter what you start, if you don't really like it, chances are you won't keep at it long enough to actually get some results!

That includes working out in front of the TV, even that gets boring if you really don't like the treadmill! How many people do you know that buy stationery bikes, that end up being great sweater-hangers?

And be honest with yourself and pick a time of day that you'll likely stick with too. If you're a morning person, don't tell yourself that you'll work out on the way home from work. Or vice versa...if you're a night owl, don't try and convince yourself that you'll get up early in the morning for your workout!

i agree best work out program is something that you enjoy its not work.

twenty some years ago i had cancer, finicially i wasn't working any more i couldn't afford to make car payments
when i got on my feet again and back to work i had no car, i rode the bus for awhile, but when i was younger i rode a bike alot,

the bus was crowded and never on time, i basicly said fuck riding the bus and cycled to work,
fast forward twenty some years, my house is paid for, im spending a hell of alot on seeing sp;s or one sp, but i still haven;t bought myself a car. i could easliy and a higher end car at that but i enjoy cycling to work, its my routine, and i know for sure, if i had a car parked in the garage like i would cycle, its too cold its too hot, its to windy i just wouldn't i would never cycle.

and besides no car payments no insurance and maintance no gas, it pretty much doubles or triples my pooning budget,
and im healther for it, i walk to work in the winter and cycle in the summer.
and there are lots of cars parked in front of my house, its not like i can't have one if i need one to go out after work or on the weekend for something, just not a commuter car to take to work every day to show off to the guys, and waste money on gas etc etc.
but like i said i see one sp about twice as much as i think i would normally be able to and am healther to
its a win win to me

"The biggest mistake people make when trying to develop an exercise program is doing it alone"

http://versustraining.com/
sorry but i disagree,
there is no rules

everyone is different
i tend to be a loner.

there are studies showing some people are good at team sports
and some people are better at individual sports.

i tend to be a loner and well very independent, and also have a tendency to think i know more then anyone or just able to fiqure it all out or at least i have the abliity to one day fiqure it all out. i don't do well at all with people standing over me telling me this is how it is. i tend not to be a follower, i march to my own drum. and i guess in the end of the day the challange is myself. i only have one person i need to beat and that is myself, any way im just trying to say i do better by myself. and some people are like that,

some people need the company or the leadership or whatever,
don't get me wrong i listen to people one of my buddies runs iron man competitions, has for twenty some years. knows more abouit fitness and pushing yourself then anyone i have ever met or listened to, when he speaks i listen, but just the same its him, this is me,
i take what i can use and apply and discard the rest.

Billy's Bootcamp.

http://www.billyblanks.com/

Oh my, it was so popular in Japan that it became a social phenomena.
I have done his 7 days program, but it is pretty cool.

I will warn you though, second time I did it was in my little apartment that built over 100 years ago, heritage house, got a complains from the suit just below mine. You gotta jump, punch, kick......

And I had to count really loud, otherwise, Billy would yell me at "louder, LOUDER!" and I yell "YES SIR! ONE, TWO!....."

It was funny everyone in Japan was crazy about him and this program in 2007 ish.

The guy in the above pic performed "surgery" on himself. Synthol (oil) injections in his arms gave him that gross bloated nasty look and he basically needed to pop his biceps to address the hematoma from dirty needles injected in his arms. Total assclown.

I did the workouts of the day (WODs) regularly for about half a year and was in the best shape of my life... If the SEALfit ones seem too intimidating off the bat, try doing the Crossfit WODs, or even scaling those down if need be, then working your way up.

It sucks, but it works.
