The Bunny has strong opinions on taking what is not yours knowingly. Not a good thing to do. As for finding $$ cash form; last week I paid for an item and received 2 twentys and a 10 in change. After placing the change into my open purse while still standing at the til I looked down a moment later to see the 2 twentys laying at my feet. I was embarrassed, careless to be dropping money, I felt horrible that I had been so thoughtless with the money to just let it fall without ensuring I had it tucked away.
And then the worst thing possible happened. I got to my car, drove away and at the next red light went to tuck the 2 twentys still in my hand into my wallet only to find 1 ten and 2 twentys laying loose in my purse ...crap. The store I was in when I found the $ was a store where people on a very tight budget might go to get what they need. I had stopped in as a matter of habit and convenience (I'm sooo not beyond bargain shopping). I could not have felt worse. When I picked the 2 twentys up the man in line behind me was looking, now all I could think was, he might have seen it there the whole time and was thinking "PayDay" and was maybe waiting for me to move my fat feet off the bills and give him the chance to feel like something great had happened that day. Sigh.
The money stayed with me only about 30 minutes. I left it as a tip for my regular lady at Tim Hortons when I purchased my extra large steeped tea, triple, triple. She did not question my motive nor did she attempt to refuse the tip. It was like she understood it was something I really needed to do. It's called Karma.
If the check is not yours, return it.
If you find $$ that you truly do not need, but know someone who does, perhaps give it away.
Karma works both ways, return for good and bad gestures ...my suggestion is do as much good as time will allow in your life and you will be a very content Bunny ...errrrr, person. ha.
