Seriously don't get paid enough for the shit they have to go through day after day.
Was an incident at my local convenience store today, emotions were high, people were freaking out. The police were calm and calming others down. These guys, seriously.. don't know how they don't take it home with them, they rock.

Good job guys, we appreciate you.

Well put MarkL. While the media is quite quick to jump all over the EPS when errors are made, if any one of us had to put up with the daily BS they put up with we'd likely use our guns to shut the next guy up.

I do agree, they do take a lot of shit, and some of it deservedly...but without police, society would crumble. It's the ones who overstep their bounds and authority who give them a bad reputation.

Sadly the Bunny has met a number of law enforcement members who, in fact, made it their life path to take advantage. Tsk Tsk Tsk. Big mistake. They thought I was a TinyBunny who would be scared of RabbitHunting Season. They could not have been more wrong. As PeaceGuy once said, do not get on my bad side.
Do I agree that SOME members deserve our praise? Certainly I do. Do all members deserve our praise? HELL NO. In fact, now that I think about it, perhaps a forum should be developed much like this one where we can review the services we have received from the various policing agencies ...interesting. The Bunny shall ask her attorney if that is a good idea. Likely not at this moment in time, but everything has it's time.

My neighbor is a police officer and i can tell you he looks like garbage after his shift i talked with him on sunday and i could tell you i think i would have trouble trying not pulling the gun from my side on some idiots . He told me he went to a store on saturday night to get a street person out of there cause the person passed out in the store and when him and his partner woke him up and got him out the guy freaked a started to swing and then pulled out a blade on them . the officers got the street guy subdued but man i can tell ya i don't want to be a cop.

Well they are there to help people, but they can do just so much. I don't think they bother SPs or guys, at least I've never heard about it.

I did not mean to imply that my issues with law enforcement have anything at all to do with being a SP, the two matters are completely unrelated. I just wanted to clear that up.

A lot of power trippers

:( My first experience with a "bad" cop was when they were dispatched to our house for a domestic dispute call. I was 13 and my sister was 15, while my parents had just beat the shit out of each other, all he was concerned with was getting a date with my sister :mad: THANKS!
Over the years I have encountered more "bad" than good, although the good have been amazing. I had an RCMP officer follow me from my house all the way (2 km) to where I was walking to get coffee. When I got close to his car, all he wanted was my number and a date :( I'm glad that our cities are so safe, I guess they don't have any real work to do!

The police force is full of human beings. I'm not naive enough to believe that they are all saints. However, let me ask you this:

Who are you going to call in the middle of the night when some asshole is trying to break into your house? Who are you expecting to come to your rescue possibly to face some insane meth head who will turn on them in a minute and will sue them if he breaks a nail during the take down?

Chances are the meth head will be gone or you will have dealt with it or the meth head will of dealt with you and the police will come to clean up the mess. its impossible to have short enough response times to help very many.

Answer: Not local law enforcement in the city I reside.
~~~~~ If you would like to know why, I will give you fifty excelent reasons...
So WHO am I going to call?
Yup, you guessed it: GHOST BUSTERS
if you think by calling cops, they'll come right away to rescue you from asshole breaking into your house, you are either very naive or live in British Property.
I'm not speaking out of my ass but I'm speaking from my experiences. How long do you think they'll take for them to come 'check up' on your property if you call 911 when group of thugs starts to gang up on you or your friend with baseball bats? In my experience? a little over 50 minutes. That's enough time to kill you over and over 50 times.
If the police are unresponsive, here's a good idea!
http://www.guy-sports.com/humor/stories/story_round_shot.htm
Going to bed the other night, I noticed people in my shed stealing things. I phoned the police but was told there was no one in the area to help. The policeman said they would send someone over as soon as possible. I hung up.
A minute later I rang again. 'Hello', I said, 'I called you a minute ago because there were people in my shed. You don't have to hurry now, because I've shot them.' Within five minutes there were half a dozen police cars in the area, plus helicopters and an armed response unit. They caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the officers said: 'I thought you said you'd shot them.' To which I replied: 'I thought you said there was no one available.'
Sounds like some of you get it . phone your mp and tell them to repeal our liberal gun laws ,the vote is coming very soon.we need to get rid of laws that only target honest citizens instead of criminals.
Who was it that said, " give some people a little authority and they just have to take it for a walk ?"
Not ALL members of law enforcement are corrupt.
This Bunny has way too much time on her paws ...
Using an Algorithm I have generated the following insult using the name of the cop at the top of MY most wanted list:
"much like a politician, you are a crap eating desperate bastard who slobbers with the mutant buttheads and morinic imbeciles".
With a wink and a nod and a wiggle of my tail ...
