That sounds pretty damn awesome. I think I'd just go there to drink in the atmosphere- it's hard to find restaurants with good food and amazing decor. Bathrooms in particular. If the bathroom is pretty and smells nice, I'm bound to come back again (provided that the food is good, of course).God, I wish!! I'm obsessed with DC Comics. Apparently "Gotham" was a test name given to the project when the restaraunt was still under development, but when they opened, they didn't bother to change it.
The whole restaraunt was built inside an old library, so it's really beautiful with authentic cellars and spiral staircases.
Ahhhhhh, the dreaded staircase at Gothams........ After several to many glasses of wine I ended up doing a very ungraceful tumble down the stairs. Thankfully a waitress heard the commotion and came to help me straighten my tie, tuck in my shirt, stop the blood from the gash on my cheek and find my shoe. The night actually turned out all right because the waitress went to tell my date that I was in the bathroom cleaning up after I had saved her life. She told my date that she tripped going down the stairs and I caught her as I was coming up but that in catching her I ended up going backwards down the stairs. I was a hero to my date (which led to hero sex ) and my waitress thought the whole thing was too funny so she gave me her number as well. All in all a very memorable night.To get to the bathrooms, you have to go down this beautiful spiral staircase. The bathrooms are just as lovely too.
Gothams has long been a favorite haunt of mine (both the restaurant and the lounge); the steaks are great, the wine list is awesome, the people are fun and the atmosphere is relaxed and not filled with 20 somethings.
Kimberely, I believe your website states you are a vegan but if you are ever willing to come over to the dark side I will gladly take you to Gothams for a night of steak, wine and debauchery.

That's pretty surprising. Did you mention it to the staff? I would think that they probably just got the ticket wrong. Every time I've been my steak was certainly to order, and very good. If I had the experience that you had, I would have sent the steak back... It's pretty rare for me to send food back at a restaurant, but an expensive steak house like Gotham should really get the steak right.Am I the only one who DIDN'T have a good steak there? Oh right, my "date" didn't either.
We both ordered ours rare and got it medium. Yeck! I was quite surprised to say the least. Once can be a fluke. Two is just ridiculous!
The service and decor were superb though.
