Just saw it, I liked it. Pretty straight foward script.
Some very trippy scenes, I liked all the WWI stuff.

Cool soundtrack, but that bjork song is one of my favs
You obviously did not watch Ishtar.....and neither has Man Mountain.......get on with it MM....you owe me this.....no taking the easy way out...you have to lose that much of your life by watching Ishtar and then try to say 1 redeeming thing about the movie....other than it ended that is.

I never saw it but it seems to have gotten some good reviews:

:p

1 redeeming quality? Isabelle Adjani was in it and she was quite a lovely woman. I may have to check it out sometime. The question is would you be willing to watch the 3 hour Pendragon Pictures version of War of the Worlds? :p

I liked it. Bunch of sexy women running around in short skirts, stockings, etc., with guns and swords. What's not to like? :)

Sucker Punch Extended Cut - Baby Doll Meets the High Roller

The extended cut blu ray of Sucker Punch was released on Tuesday and I picked it up and watched it that night. In my opinion, the extended cut of the film is significantly better than the version we got to see a few months ago in theatres. It's just a much more well rounded and "complete" film with the deleted sequences put back in. ESPECIALLY, the scene that was cut so the studio could release it with a PG-13 rating.

This was an article about that about the time the movie was released:

'Sucker' sex edit upsets star
By WENN.COM

Emily Browning was left fuming after her sex scene with Jon Hamm in Sucker Punch was axed from the upcoming action movie in a bid to please U.S. censors.

The 22-year-old Australian actress gets intimate with the Mad Men actor in Zack Snyder's latest project, in which she plays a young woman who is involuntarily committed to a mental institution.

Browning was outraged after learning Snyder was forced to chop down the film after officials at the Motion Picture Association of America took offence at the racy scene.

She tells Nylon magazine, "I had a very tame and mild love scene with Jon Hamm. It was like heavy breathing and making out. It was hardly a sex scene... I think that it's great for this young girl to actually take control of her own sexuality.

"Well, the MPAA doesn't like that. They don't think a girl should ever be in control of her own sexuality because they're from the Stone Age. I don't know what the f**k is going on and I will openly criticize it, happily. So essentially, they got Zack to edit the scene and make it look less like she's into it. And Zack said he edited it down to the point where it looked like he was taking advantage of her. That's the only way he could get a PG-13 (rating) and he said, 'I don't want to send that message.' So they cut the scene!"

But the actress admits there are benefits to allowing kids under 17 to see the movie, adding, "I'm torn. I want an 'R' (rating) because we can get a lot of cool scenes into it, but then I like the idea of younger girls being able to see it."
In my opinion, Miss Browning's take on the scene is slightly off. That's probably the motivation that she tapped into to play the scene though, so I can see her perspective. I can't really go into my take on the scene without giving anything away for those who have not yet seen it though. I will just say that I don't see this as either a love scene nor a sex scene. It's something deeper. Like a lot of the movie, it's all about the layers.

In any case, I think the scene is excellent. It's wonderfully written and beautifully acted by Hamm and Browning. And it brings so much more weight to the ending of the film and to Baby Doll's character arc. The theatrical cut now just feels incomplete without it.

The scene has been posted on YouTube and I will embed it here with the following note: If you have not yet watched the movie but intend to, find the extended cut when you decide to watch. DO NOT watch this clip before then as it contains a MAJOR SPOILER. And stop reading now. For those who've seen the theatrical cut, this scene immediately follows the scene where Baby Doll confronts the guys in the parking lot and is punched out cold.

the end of this clip kind of tells me what the whole movies was a bout .. which is what i thought it was a bout .. Girl get sexually assaulted by ..... kills assaulter ? or tries to. Get put in mental home , struggles to keep her identity , dreams and strength to over come ..

And i have not seen the movie because that is what i thought the end would be .. after all those fantastic fantasy sequences . I realize that it is more in depth then that

YOu can tell me if i am wrong and then i may have to see" Sucker Punch " but then the title my tell it all.

Which is why I posted the SPOILER ALERT and warning not to watch the clip if you intended to watch the movie. Some of your assumptions are off base and some are open to interpretation as to whether they're correct. The ending is more complex than just being about a "happy" or "unhappy" ending. The movie is definitely more intricate and layered than many viewers gave it credit for being and it's why many reviewers inferred that it was a confusing mess.

When I originally watched it theatrically, I felt like the ending was telegraphed from the opening moments. But I was still quite entertained by the visuals and the soundtrack and score elements. Basically, I enjoyed the ride. Then rewatching the extended cut gave me a new appreciation for some of the more subtle elements. And I know it's hard to grasp the concept that this movie does indeed have "subtle" elements but like I said, it's more layered and open to interpretation than a movie that's about a simple "happy" ending.

I'm not going to say that you should watch it because it sounds like it might not be a satisfying experience for you based on what you've written but I would appreciate it if you could put in a SPOILER WARNING at the start of your post, so that anyone who might be interested in watching doesn't get upset that you've given away the end (even though, as I said, I believe that it's pretty much telegraphed from the opening of the movie).

Should have been titled Sucks A Bunch. By far one of the worst story lines ever in movie history.

I didn't get it all. So much eye candy it all blended together with no stand-out scenes. Characters so undeveloped that i just didn't care about them or what the story was.

I have no desire to see the extended cut after watching the theatrical version on video. Seemed like such a waste of craft and effort.

Give me good old exploitation women-in-prison movies anytime....and don't leave out the shower scenes....
