I was pondering this today. We talked about it at work.

If you could live anywhere on this rock we call earth, where would you live?
I mean, sell everything you have. Give up your job. The place of your dreams.
It can be anywhere a person could live. Not fictional.


Me I would find myself a warm sandy beach, small in population and away from the fast pace of life.
I want to wear shorts and a t-shirt everyday. Somewhere I can just ride a bike into town, visit a bar & the local hooker. then go home. Walk up and down the beach. Yes, I will have a satillite Dish and a computer. But not much else.
eat bananas off the trees and mangos. Drink tequila, and just enjoy it.
Won't need much cash. If I sell everything I own, that should last me.

I already live in the best place on earth, as far as I'm concerned. I am a total Vancouver fan. Sure, there are lots of places I want to visit, but Vancouver will always be home.

Now as to where in Vancouver and with who I'd want to live with in this "Perfect World"... well, that's a whole other story...

my secret dream place would have to be on some secluded island where its big enough that they have modern conviences because i would want to see how the canucks and what not are doing but small enough where you don't have a mass crowds and i would want to bring like 20 of my closest friends so that we could party all night and sleep during the day

Nice for a vacation but that kind of a lifestyle gets boring fast. Your brain turns to mush and you turn into an anti social weirdo.

My dream is to be the dictator and tyrant of a large nation with 60% women. All men would be heavily taxed while women under the age of 35 would not be taxed. I would have lax immigration for women under the age of 25, while everyone else would be severely restricted. I would throw lavish parties and have many girlfriends. I would create the special title of "State Consort" to elevate my favorite girlfriends to have official status. I would also publicly behead people I didn't like, and execute random people of my government and military. Also, my nation would be a tax haven for rich countries and their leaders and powerful people. That way, I could get away with just about anything without fear of reprisal or any human rights bullshit. My economy would be driven by the tax haven, lax banking laws, and the main industry would be arms trading, but officially the economy would be driven by agricultural products so as to put on a good face. The state religion would be catholic... I would need a state religion also to keep the human rights pressures at bay. I would invite Nobel Peace prize winners and lavish them with great wealth from my heavily taxed citizens, again as good public relations.
