Is Cloutier blowing Crawford or what?? I can't figure out why he's still in Van. He should have been packed and traded before the zamboni hit the ice for letting in that infamous center-line goal against Detroit.

who's going to take him????

and the nucks do play different with him in net versus auld ... they do more defensive work, including blocking shots, which they don't do with Clouts.

and unfortunately, it is the team which seems to like him so he stays for now ... but with Auld 3-0 there may be hope that he will season enough for the post-season.

Canucks outshot the Avs 23-0 in the third period. All we need is solid goal tending and things will happen. We gotta play Auld more.

Bros, it's all Economics! Cloutier has always been cheap/ inexpensive compared to other No.1 goalies (not saying that he necessarily deserves to be No.1). But for the budget minded Canucks (especially in the past, but with the new CBA, every team has more parity) he's performed decently (although not when it counts!) and in recent years the Canucks have made money! So with attendance, TV revenues as well as other marketing $$ all UP, why go out and spend 3-5 times the amount of money to get a REAL No. 1 goalie who can perform when it truly counts??? The Canucks sell the adage that they have built a true Stanley Cup contender however; it's all about the $$$.
I think the only positive for the Canucks out of this situation is with the new rules/ regs in place, the entire league will change (somewhat) to depend on speed and offence rather than solely on defence (Caveat: only if the officiating permits the free reeling style to continue into the playoffs).

Canucks have had a good start, but those two blowouts, both to teams that no one thought would contend this year, are troubling for the faithful here.
