WTF is the matter with kids these days

I remember when I was a kid, and everyone else was a kid around my age or even a bit older and younger. We weren't like the kids of today.

Today they are:

1. fucking wimps. Hence we've come up with this apparently "new" phenomenon called "bullying". Bullying has always existed, and I was bullied. But I didn't cry my ass off at all, I just took it and dealt with it. Today, they see psychiatrists and kill themselves. Go figure.

2 entitled little female jerks. I recall overhearing some 16 year old girl speaking to her friends about how she thinks Louis Vitton is for losers, and it's only Chanel for her in terms of handbags. The first time I ever stepped into a place that sold Chanel handbags was only a year ago, and that was Holt Renfrew. I recall those things were around $2000 or more each. Even Louis Vitton is way up there. I don't remember any girl when I was sixteen carrying even a Louis Vitton bag. At most, they had designer jeans, and they were priced at a measly $100 or so dollars (and in those times, that was still quite a bit, but not like the $2000+ today for a purse). $2000 is about half the average middle class disposable income today, whereas $100 was just a tiny fraction 2 decades ago. What's wrong with these entitled little girls? How do these cunts even KNOW the difference between Chanel and LV? Yeah I said it. CUNTS.

3. sluts. I love sluts, but a 15 year old slut? WTF. Well in my day, a 15 year old slut was the one girl who everyone shunned in your grade, and there was only 1 and she hung out in the parking lot, if she was at school at all, and some old guy was her bf and picked her up in a car.... yes, a car. Today, all the boys say all the girls act like "hos". Not only that, they dress like hos. Not only that, they attend blow job parties to suck off guys. Not only that, it's not uncommon for them to prostitute themselves just so they can buy that stupid LV handbag to show off in school. I blame the black (and white) rap losers for setting females back another 100 years. It's their fault and the fault of these loser kids who worship their dumb asses.

4. entitled little male jerks. My friend has a boy who is 18, just finished high school. The kid works a full time min wage job but lives at home. He can't save a dime but pays no rent. He doesn't want to go to school because apparently he can't save enough money to afford tuition. He has a 1999 Mitsubishi Spyder Convertible that is lowered, a custom paint job, 20" rims, and super loud stereo that can be heard a block away. All his friends are the same as him. And he can't seem to keep his pants on and he walks like a chimpanzee and he throws his hands and fingers around when he talks. He thinks he's black. Well no, they all think they're black, but they're as white as mayonnaise. Even the worst losers didn't act like them when I was a kid, but now we have classes full of these monkeys.

5. big-talking up-starts. A young acquaintance told me how she went into some office for her first job as a receptionist, and told them why they are going to go bankrupt. She never got hired. A young guy who finished a 2 year college diploma, who I hired, one day told me how he was going to do better than any of the senior people (including myself) at the company. He got relieved of his position a few months later. There's many more like them, as they were not unusual. Mark Zuckerberg was a total loser when he started Facebook and he got lucky even though it wasn't even his idea. Today, little wimps can make websites and become rich... good for them, but when wealth comes so easily without much skill, one should remember that and not take it for granted. In my day, we knew we were at the bottom and we knew we had to put in our time in our careers and in our studies. Today, they think they deserve what you have and more, and that you don't deserve it.

But you're going to forgive them, right? Is that what JC does?
Old Testament - don't do any work on Sabbath at all. New Testament - take a rest on Sabbath, and work if you have to.
Old Testament - don't eat shell fish or hooved animals. New Testament - do eat shell fish and hooved animals.
Old Testament - eye for an eye. New Testament - turn the other cheek.

No I'm not going to forgive them. Don't need to do that anymore. In the really old days, somebody judged them. Then later on in time, someone forgave them instead. Today they have to bring themselves to account.

I'm glad there are people who I can agree to in this f-up world.
JC is right on this issue; lots, I mean effing LOTS of younger people I hired are all superficial and disenfranchised from reality.
The sad things is what JC has mentioned had become an acceptable reality to lotsa youngsters these day.

Really, Mark Z had a brilliant idea and targeted the insecurity of human psychology and created this messed up social networking phenomenon where people have to be "connected" all the time and they must reply the endless & meaningless post & replies.

There's quite a bit I could say on this, but I'll keep it to two things: Although I disagree with a lot of your post, I do definitely agree that my generation is fairly materialistic. We rely so much on technology, we get lost in what truly makes you happy. Friends, family, experiences, not things. Some people can't even carry on a conversation without stopping every 2 minutes to become absorbed in a text. It's really annoying. That being said, I don't hang out with people like that, because there are many who aren't like this. So you gotta be a little less cynical :p because there's a lot of great young people out there.

The issue of the teen girls and sex. I could spend a whole day on that issue, but I just happened to read an absolutely fantastic article today that sums up that issue quite perfectly. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2W4lJ...ization-replaces-opportunity-with-obligation/

Oh Christ... that brings up another WTF with today's youth:

#6: STOP THE GODDAMN TEXTING WE'RE IN A MEETING. Ever gone out to a get-together with people (primarily those about 25 and under), say at a restaurant, and while someone is talking to them, they nevertheless bring out their cell phone and start texting? That's just obnoxious. It's the equivalent of putting your face down and reading a magazine while someone you are supposed to be paying attention to is talking to you - only worse: there are now all these anonymous people who have entered the room the speaker doesn't know about. Or texting while driving? Don't these people have common sense? I saw what looked like a teen girl texting while driving, not once, not twice, so many times I've lost track. Or texting at a funeral? I can't think of anything more obnoxious than that, and I've experienced it first hand. WTF is wrong with you young people? Did you forget the manners your parents taught you?

A better question would be WTF is wrong with parents these days.
Get off your blackberry/ipad/ipod/ps3 and start parenting!

Prostitute themselves at 15? Really, who told you that, or are you one of the buyers? Would that even be legal in Canada? Isn't the age of consent now 16, up from 14 in 2008? Although i take it a 14 year old can have sex with a 19 year old, for an example of the close-in-age exemptions.

Exactly! Some parents need these gadgets for their work. But at least I know some parents know how to manage their kids so that they would not be insatiable.

If parents say 5 minutes, then 5 minutes. No OBJECTION!

jesuschrist, people are too open-minded in here. They keep letting people to cross the lines. They don't know what contentment means. So, they will never stop. It's insatiable!

Why would you raise consent when it's not even the issue.

Have you not been reading the news very often, like in the last 5 years, or you just aren't very aware of what is going on about you that you would have to ask such a question. Good grief, and to think anyone would be stupid enough to suggest something like that and assume nobody would suspect. Is the answer stupidly obvious, or is the answerer stupid, or is the question stupid, or the questioner stupid?

I am curious if these 15 year olds you allege are hooking for material items are using those their own age for this purpose or young adults [18-20] or older guys. If it's the latter, then age of consent is an issue.

Have you not been reading the news very often, like in the last 5 years, or you just aren't very aware of what is going on about you that you would have to ask such a question.
I don't hang with 15 year olds so i probably won't observe them around "about me" hooking themselves. Nor have i seen any news stories to this effect. If you could provide even one, especially in the Vancouver area, i would have to be eternally grateful. I read the news daily but don't recall seeing anything on this topic, no, not a one.

"Not only that, it's not uncommon for them to prostitute themselves just so they can buy that stupid LV handbag to show off in school."

I am surprised anyone would have this type of info. How much research or how many news stories would be needed to reach such a conclusion? Perhaps by spending many hundreds of hours in teen chat rooms asking about this?

Good grief, and to think anyone would be stupid enough to suggest something like that and assume nobody would suspect. Is the answer stupidly obvious, or is the answerer stupid, or is the question stupid, or the questioner stupid?
You lost me there. I thought the questions were simple enough, yet you seem defensive. Do kids today not like questions? How old are you BTW?

So, lenny I take it you're not a father, no kids at home ? If you are of have, then maybe talk to them about this shit, they'll probably be able to confirm a lot of this for you. I've got three nieces out in the Mission/Abbotsford school system, they'll quite happily confirm pretty well anything JC has said about the BJ parties and the girls selling ass to buy the latest must have's. Hell, you don't even have to ask them, they'll bring it up like most guys will talk about hockey or football. They act like it is the normal thing to do.

children are in no way.. the way they used to be years ago. The world is moving at such a fast pace, I as an adult struggle to keep up and with the constant changing of technology children are forced to run, when they should be walking or even crawling for that matter. They have no choice but to keep up because of all the pressure in our society. If you are not up to date and par with the latest gadget, you are left out of the loop in so many way among your peers, and almost looked apon differently and outcasted for swimming against the current.

I remember when the latest barbie was a cool thing to have.. and playing with them in your doll house was a days worth of fun. There was so much thought and use of imagination, and so much more communication among other kids around you. Back then kids reallyed played, and they were allowed to just be children, free of any pressure to keep up. Its not like that anymore, and its sad in some ways because I feel as if children are almost being stripped of their childhood... and being programmed at such a young age like little robots. In a sense its great as well, because of how fast things keep changing its good that children are more educated in different areas that im sure plenty of us were not educated in at that age. I think the pressure to keep up also ages our younger generations,, which can lead to the 15 year old sluts... unappropriate dressing for your age being ungratefull for what you have because something brand new just came out on the market .. so on and so forth. this is such a complicated topic
