I think gestation is the wrong word, fertilization...you gestate while the fetus is invitro, fertilize when you wanna grow grapes.

So, if a woman is pregnant through rape or incest, and in your world ( in deberry's wonderworld of wondering), she has to go through with the pregnancy and raise the baby, forever hating and resenting that she couldn't terminate the fetus legally and safely, and instead goes to an underground abortion clinic where it's illegal....etc,etc.
