Would you be a mod?

i would love to be a mod, granted there always a downside that you never see until your in that position. but i would love to have to solve peoples quarrels with a firm yet gentle hand of dimplocacy and when the situation called for it and good swift kick to the ass
next time ... don't do it as an anonymous vote .. I want to know who wants this job just to fire my ass .....

Personally, I think an ideal way of modding this board is to have a mod for almost each section. One for the lounge, extinguish the flames, pulling the crap threads before they catch fire, etc. One to look after the advertisers thread, making sure that everyone posting an ad is one and is paid up. One for the review section, pulling reviews of ladies on the DNR list, pulling or editing the ones with tmi, like her exact location or precise details of tattoos, etc. That way, each one has just that to focus on and won't be spreading their attention too thin.
Dak makes a very good point,,,it seems that with all the threads started and the combined posts,it would be taxing on an individual to babysit all the forums the way they have been,adding a little more moderation would ease the load of the current moderators and this might be more efficient in the long run,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and/or take away the cloak like they do on TERB and you know who a Mod is instead of all the past bullshit and guessing games people play,,,,,Just a thought and I'll end it there as I don't want to come across as a shit disturber or an asshole

in good ol days .. when I was living on PERB .. I did offer FredZ to be "The Lounge MOD" ... I wasn't good enough or my offer was lost between 100s of others.

bact then, I had a dedicated system, that had a copy of all PERB posts, you could post it, you or MOD could delete it 5 secons later .. but .. I would have it anyway ....
we had a late night discussions .... sometimes in 4-5 or more threads at once, till 3am or later.
we had celebrations of first people passing 1000 posts mark on PERB
back then, I read all the threads in the lounge, ..... not anymore
we had a post delay of only 60 seconds... and we complain about it ....

I think FZ should just give the 'girls' the ability to impose a 24 hour time-out on anyone giving them grief -- they would not be able to remove posts but just impose a temporary time-out ... if they abuse it they lose it ... but it would take a lot of pressure off the mods to not have to handle all this stuff.
and i think DK's idea of mods for certain areas is interesting but you still need people to be mods before that would work.
