I am in no position to judge at all, I know a lot of women/men couldn't be a Service Provider (SP) right?? But one jobs for sure I just couldn't do is go door to door and try and sell something such as an alarm system or cable services or anything. I just hate when they knock on my door and at the most inconvenient time like dinner to give there pitch.

I would think that in this day and age they would use social media only.

Oh well, we all have to make a living some how. (This just happened to me right now)

Again I am not judging..it would just be hard and intimating for me do.

Many moons ago, I did cold-calling. Yes. It will make you or break you. But you are being modest. Part of your job is to keep smiling even when you really don't feel like it.

The numbers were something like this:
90% No
5% No, you **(#&, get out of my office.
8% Maybe... but ends up no.
2% Yes, and that eventually leads to good business...

I've applied it to dating (and that actually has better odds). :amen:

Yeah, I don't think I could ever work in sales. I don't like to approach random strangers and initiate conversations.

Any job at a temp agency. I have seen some serious weird people at those places. Myself included.

I don't own either one, and never intend too.
The harder I have to work.....the less clothing I wear, although it is mosquito season, and that will put the shirt back on in a hurry.

How do airline pilots who fly overseas say NYC to Germany non stop do it? I have never seen them standing or walking to stretch their legs. OUCH. I rather do the stewardess job!

I've worked a long time in business to business sales. For the most part it's fairly civilized with me having a product that the client requires and we find a reasonable price somewhere in between.

Where it all falls to shit is when they source it outside of my territory and expect me to assist with warranty or free training.

I'd say the toughest job would be telephone sales with customers being afraid of being scammed. The "windows technical support" scam seemed never ending. Admittedly I was very rude when they called so they added me to the asshole list they called at 3:30 AM most mornings.

Well now, I managed to escape the tie and suit while managing a parks board before I retired......because I also managed employee relations between management and a union I wore jeans and t-s my entire career...mind you i was on the union side for many years then got poached onto the management side....for my last 15, but worst job....has got to be a manager who only gets to give out bad news while letting the supervisors hand out the good news...really wears you down...especially when you have no choice but to terminate someone you have worked side by side with for my first 25 years.....worst job ever.....so glad I left early

I did door to door sales in Bristol in the UK for about a month. It was for the British Red Cross trying to collect money just after the earthquake in Haiti. 4 weeks of torture.

For me almost any job can be enjoyable depending on the people I work with. I've enjoyed some low paying labor jobs as a student when working with other entertaining students.
Currently I make a fairly high income but I hate my job and I'm not really interested in spending time with any of the people at work. If it didn't pay as well I'd have left a long time ago. I've spent many days wondering if the money is worth it.

I don't think it's like a road trip, lol!
Ny times did an article on truck drivers in the US. Full respect to them, it's a hard life. Bad health and stress of driving those rigs for little pay and time away from home has gotta wear them down. I've certainly never seen a fit truck driver, it's gotta be nearly impossible to stay healthy.
As for seeing the country, most said it's true but you're seeing it from a highway and there's no time to stop except at truck stops to sleep, eat, and shower. One couple who drive together said they were ticking off the places to go back to in an RV when they retired.

As for me, I could never do sales, especially car sales. I think I'm too honest: "you're right sir, our competitor WILL give you a better deal! And this model DID just burst into flames and kill a family of five last week, so you might want to wait until the recall is complete. Have a wonderful day!"

I actually know quite a few people in their twenties or early thirties, living in the city, who have never had drivers licenses and see no need for them.

My father never, ever drove.

I got my license within weeks of turning sixteen.
