lol. bachelor from Uof A, Master from UBC. next one would be a purple hat, not for awhile though

good for you. high school is actually pretty difficult, studying stuff that you dont care about. at least at university, you get to choose subjects that interest you.
Yep... I hated my high school years... :(

;) Your singing to the choir on the HS thing; Post secondary is much better...although in order to get your degree there are pre requisite courses too...but it's so much better:D
We get to choose any subject we like at university.

Hey, congrats, visioneast! Welcome to the world of university grads.
Thank you, Birdboy!
You know... now I feel like.. I can.. like... look down on people without like... university education... I feel superior. :D  :) Just kidding.

Congratulations, visioneast! It's nice to hear that your dedication and perseverance has paid off. Best of luck in whatever path your life takes you.
Thank you, aznboi!!! :) :)

Congrats to TS !

but I must ask: how much is a master's really worth now? I don't know why an MA is supposed to be that much better than a BA, when it's really just more knowledge that you likely won't be able to use practically in your job (unless you want to be an academic). Someone clue me in pls.

I am depressed with myself because you see I was a failure in highschool. I failed basically every course but my English 12. :( I went to Langara College to study very hard for two years and transfer to SFU and here I am. :)
Congratulations... I was there today myself... ;)

It's never too late to go back (I did), and I'm sure you got a lot more out of it for that reason.

I remember an economic lecture I was having where we were disrupted by the noise and the prof. Don DeVoretz looks out the window and he said there goes a bunch of unemployed graduates..
Funny how many fellow alumni are on this site... I had a class with DeVoretz last year; I didn't think I'd ever see a prof's name on this board!

Hahahaha, that's pretty funny. So you didn't complete your study? :)

Well, a baker is a respected profession. :)

Visioneast,

Awesome accomplishment! Now on to bigger and badder things!! Go for the Master's as it should get you a better paying job and allow you to be more selective on the positions for work...at least one should hope so anyways!!

But now that that the studies and exams are done for the time being...it is time to have some fun too!!

So who are you going to celebrate this great achievement with?? You been an active participant on PERB for a while now and what are your plans??

Have fun what ever you do and who ever you do it with?

Cheers,
The King
Thank you, luvmetender! I think I wil work for a year or two then get a Master. I'm not sure how I'm going to celebrate, maybe I'll hire a couple of girls, lol. :D

Too bad, reality soon checked in, made me realize life's a bitch, and you marry one, then you die. :(

No, no, no, just kiddin' here, sorry to spoil your party. You gonna do fine young man! And go take on the world! :D

Yup, class of 1989, BBA. Yeah those were the good old days. I used to have sex with my girlfriend in a washroom at the Applied Science Building (I think that what its called, not sure, its a long time ago my friend) from time to time. Half way through our studies at night, you know, make it more fun.
Yeah those were the good old days.

So I guess an MA is basically something educational that you do for fun, like a pottery class or tai chi?

Hey John! Thank you! Are you one of us Simon Fraza gangstas too?! :D

Trust me, you'll get there eventually. :)

You are joking right??? :)

Well, OK, I guess an airplane toilet might be more cramped and unappealing and people do it there regularly ...
I want to join the mile high club too... :(
