The 3 best modern hotels would probably be Inn at the Forks, The Lombard and the Delta. I believe The Delta needs key cards for the elevators so maybe not the best for a visitor. The Hotel Fort Garry is also nice and there is also a Raddisson.

Just below these there is a Hilton (I think it's a Hilton) by the airport, The Charterhouse, The Clarion, Holiday Inn Airport West and a new Sandman. These are out of the downtown except The Charterhouse.

I've found that Earl's has always sucked for food - it's only good if you want to sit on the patio, and tie one on. I've never found anything on the menu that turns my crank, and even though the eye candy is decent, it's almost creepy to have so many beautiful girls around...

What sucks is I have a 50.00 gift card from there, but I don't want to use it, as I hate going there so much...

Well, I'll use your $50 card if you don't want it!!
I'll even pick it up!!!:D

If Moxie's and Earls doubled as MP's, they would make a fortune!!!
Not a bad idea actually.
Thing is, Moxie's actually has great food, compared to Earl's...

General Tao chicken

“Nouille u & me” on St Catherine’s O & rue de fort

the General Tao chicken!

My god what a remarkable dish,
Bite sized chicken balls smothered in garlic butter, onions, veggies. They quickly cook it over an open flame so that it slightly chars at its edges resulting in a smokey flavour with enough texture to be crisp when you first bite into it before collapsing into a sweet explosion of moist spicy meats. The owners are straight from Taiwan and the cooks cater mostly to a university crowd in Montreal, open 24 hours…oops I forgot we’re talking about Winnipeg here, nevermind. Well, you do have Papa Georges.:D

Lindenwoods/Joey's
What was the thread about again? LOL

Well, I love Joey's at Kenaston for their undeniable attention towards me and my "friends", sometimes known and unknown to a certain degree.

The food is tasteful accordinging to each one's taste, but definately the men and women there are more welcoming than the menu some days,..or evenings,...I stick to daytime observances for more evening adventures, don't you? I would love to try out Blush one evening,...have a personal contact if anyone needs one. xoxo;)

speaking of hotels

Can anyone provide a lead on a local hotel with a jacuzzi in-room ?

I agree about P-G's. Vastly overrated/overpriced althouh the french onion soup is good. And I have heard the same about Martini's not being what it once was... I miss Mama Mia's too. Best pizza ever.
