Just an FYI that there is a new scam where someone from India calls you to tell you that Microsoft has detected problems with your computer. They ask you to run the following program:
eventvwr.exe (Windows Event Viewer)
The caller acts alarmed at the number of warning/errors reported. They claim that all the "warning" and "error" events are hidden spyware files that anti-virus software cannot detect/remove. At this point they try to get you to download Remote PC Control software so that a Tech can fully examine your computer. Of course, they will try to sell you a fix for non-existent problems.
Apparently a lot of people are falling for this. I just received this call today.

CRTC likely cannot do anything, so it is best to waste the scammers time by giving them bogus CC details, or simply keeping them on the line as long as possible. Tell them your computer froze and needs to be rebooted while they wait on the line like idiots...
