Your posts are making more sense and I understand why you feel the way you do.

By your own admission, you can't afford to eat at fine dining establishments all that often...no big deal...most can't. But there are those who aspire to have a certain lifestyle and do all they can to put on a false impression even though they simply just are not there yet. Guys with real money will walk into value Village and not give a shit who sees them. The wannabe would be too concerned that his friends might see him.

The guy with money will eat a seven eleven greasy chili dog while in his 5000 dollar suit...he doesn't care. That same guy will see a low priced prostitute. He's not frugal. He just wants something different.

You seem intent on trying to appear aloof even if it means you have to limit your enjoyment of life in order to stick with what you think are "the finer things". Everyone is different. I have spent 500 dollars for a round of golf and I have spent 30 bucks. I just love golf...and I can't afford to golf only at Nicklaus North or Northview if I want to do it as often as I prefer.

That said...I tend to avoid the CL Asian places because I don't want a foot fugus from stepping in their shower :D. Nor do I want crabs from the bedsheets only being changed every few days after 50 different guys have been on that bed.
Gotta quote everything as I'm on phone and it's a pain in the ass to single out the important bit.

I've been told the exact same thing by an escort. A lot of guys with real money who've got their success don't really care that much about the "appearance of success".

People do have the things they indulge in and most other things just don't matter beyond certain price points other than appereances. I can't tell the difference between a $50 meal and a $350 meal or a $20 wine and $200 wine. But I can tell the difference between that $500 snowboard setup and $1500 setup because that actually matters to things I regularly partook of. Same would apply to escorts, someone accustomed to top quality service/experience is going to base decisions on that, not price/website only.

Hatrick is correct. As far as I can read he is the only guy here talking through experience. There is a lot of theory bandied about.

Loads of rich guys cruise for SWs. In the nineties I worked with a young girl who decided to chuck escorting and follow her dream prince (pimp) to the streets where he would set her up as the head of his 'stable'. Didn't work out that way and when she finally made it back to the agency I quizzed her on how it works down there on the pavement.

She made hand over fist more money than an escort. They work hard and fast, upsell everything and do as little as possible. You had to turn over fast, like a hamburger stand. The clients were generally guys in nice cars from the burbs cruising for a fast thrill...also, the clients tended to be rough and mean. Grabbing hair and forcing the head onto the cock, calling them names, treating them like objects: She was a mean, cold, bitter gal when she got out.

Now, she was beautiful before she hit the streets. She also came from a good family, I had been to her parents place. She was in college and well educated. If you dressed her up and she was not on crack she could escort any CEO, Engineer, Lawyer, Doctor etc....her birthright was upper middle class.

The difference between the experience men wanted with a street worker and the experience they wanted with an escort generally revolved around the amount of emotional connection they need with the provider....although you could call sadism an emotional connection.

Hatrick is also smarter about hygiene than the average guy who lives in a fairy tale world of "it will never happen to me".... it used to be that women knew their responsibility was to protect their clients and the agencies reputation by playing safe....used to be you got fired for partaking in 'unclean' acts, even in the nineties when escorts looked more like the women who were too ugly to work the street. That was the mindset of yesteryear and even the street workers were very picky about covering...their pimps demanded it.

I even wonder if there are still pimps working girls on the street?

And another thing :), there are many independent escorts I have seen who are upper middle class, educated, and could walk into a conference along with a CEO and look the part. Sandi Lane and Beautiful Anna come to mind: brainy, beautiful and classy.

It seems to be a Vancouver tradition to blame all the city's ills on second class citizens from the dreaded suburbs, ... usually a code word for "Surrey". To say the least, I think it's a bit overworked.

Second class citizens? What is that?

I would imagine that most of the Beamers and Mercedes were coming from the Shaunessy, Kitsilano, Kerrisdale and West Van area...

In the eighties and nineties the most popular strolls were downtown and to the east end of Vancouver and the 'burbs' were just about anywhere outside that zone.....and Surrey wasn't the 'burbs' it was the 'boonies' still very small and full of farms.....gals didn't like driving all the way out there...King George had long strips of forest and looked pretty gloomy at night.

I am old! Really old! No point in hiding it!

I remember when Guilford mall sat in the middle of a pasture, and it had an outdoor open center with a playground...and the Dairy Queen in Richmond was on 3 rd and had a giant slide behind it!

If I am hearing you correctly, you are older than the dirt that was in the pasture where Guildford Mall sat?

Yup. A peasant from deep in the backwoods of some developing country who can speak little or no English. Sounds great! Sign me up! :fear:

The point of seeing a higher priced escort is for a richer experience. If you simply want to bang someone, and don't care about anything else, then sure, you will look for the lowest fee girls. But of course you don't get the frills when you do that, on average. There will be the exceptions no doubt, but if you want the equivalent of a fine dining experience as opposed to a the local fast food joint, you are generally going to need to pay for it. That is how everything else in life works, the escort business is no different.

If that is your experience with micros then you have not been to a top notch one like Sugarland and you have never seen some of the ultra hot gals that have passed through the gates of Sugarland....maybe they dont have the best command of the english language but in a lot of cases they dont need to....the best example I can think of is Cara.....sweet jesus that gal was sublime....I saw her 7 times and each visit got better than the last.....on the last visit I saw her we did not exchange a single word after my greeting in Korean...there was just no need...if I made gesture she knew what I wanted and if she made a gesture I knew what she wanted to do to me....oh yeah and I will say the room she occupied at Sugarland during her unbroken record of 6 weeks had more roses in it continuously during that time than a small flower shop....these of course were given to her by her appreciative customers.....and I brought my fair share.

Wow storm rider! BTW is Cara still working at sugarland?

Turgela, "..a higher priced escort is for a richer experience." You must be smokin somethin illegal. You really mean she gets richer due to your lack of experience!!

Yup. You just need to read the reviews of the ladies at the lower end of the business. Real quality stuff!

I mean, can you blame people for thinking that when you read what the clients of these women actually say?

Really? I know plenty of people with substantial amounts of money, none shop at value village. They don't need to. You see, that is the problem

Do a little experiment next time you are downtown. Go into one of those greasy little fast food places on Granville and see how many suits are there. Then go into one of the proper restuarants and do the same thing. If you are correct then there will be an equal number in both. We both know what the answer to that question will be.

I used to play golf for a brief period. I had a friend who started and she wanted to learn because she thought it would help her network, so I went along and tried to learn too. The trouble was, she hates spending money so she allways has to go to the "value" places for everything. So, we ended up mostly going to that swamp pit (and I'm not kidding about that) of a course down by the Fraser river (I think it is part of the reservation, run by the band there - it's right next door). Golf was great, you could hit balls and allthough I was never any good at it, it was fun to challenge myself. I like doing stuff like that. But what I also like is to do that in surroundings that are beautiful, that create an enivroment that I can experience. For me it was not just golf, it was groomed fairways, the trees, the light, the beauty of the course. The whole experience, all those things counted as much for me as hitting the ball. But she didn't care about stuff like that, all she was interested in was hitting the ball for the least amount of money. We must hurry because we are too slow. OMG , the sun is setting and we haven't finished the course yet!! Sigh.... Me, I would happily pay another 30, 40, 50 whatever to go somewhere better, take my time, soak in the whole experience. Even if it meant golfing less often, because I knew that I would appreciate that session much better.

I just want to make an observation here, but, it seems to me that when someone needs to spend less so they can do more, then they have a problem.

Not sure about Vancouver, but here if you want to take your time on a golf course you have to head out of town, or to one of the middle or lower middle quality golf courses. Go to a nice (expensive golf course) here and you'll have a lot of actual golfers behind you and filled up tee times so someone's always behind you wanting to play through or you've gotta hurry your ass. Hey at least you'll have pretty scenery to stare at while you're letting the people behind you tee off all the time. People that cant actually play golf at these course will eventually just start to piss others off. And really 30-50 bucks more for a round of golf isn't alot of money and still on the cheaper end of the scale. If you just want to hit balls go to a driving range. Reminds me of all the people in Banff that wanted to learn to snowboard, bought nice new gear, mid to high end stuff, spent too much on it, dumb, because they're not actually getting use out of it, just want it for show.

One uncle is a uni prof married to a doctor, they drive a shitty caravan and old vw, walk around it track pants. Another aunt owns one of the more successful physio clinics in town the only thing she spends her money on is her garage/tools, everything else she does on the cheap. Maybe it's a difference between east coast/west coast I dont know, but there is very few "fancy" things in NB and it's very difficult to tell who has money and who doesn't until you see their house.

It is very typical of West Coasters to dress down.

Someone I know from Toronto told me that back there you can tell who the rich folks are, but, out West it could be the guy sitting next to you in the baggy shorts and old Hawaiian shirt.

I know a man who owns houses in Kerrisdale and apartment buildings. His house is freezing cold and he shops at the Sally Anne...when people work hard from scratch and have come through very hard times often they cannot change habits.

Sadly Cara is long gone and she never did make another appearance at Sugarland....I think she ended up doing a cross Canada tour from the east to the west at various high end Micros and then went back to Korea with a veritable shitload of money.....I made more repeats to see her than any other gal at Sugarland with the next closest being Mika with 5 visits and this was when I was off the hook crazy in late 2008 to early 2009....7 months of going to Sugarland 3-4 times a week every week.....I know of 1 guy who saw Cara every day she was available to work during those 6 weeks.....cripes it is a wonder he did not ask her to marry him LOL.

Not just hard to break old habits, but differing priorities as well. Why would I spend money on fine dining, fancy car/clothes when I could use better clubs at a more challenging golf course or have better snow gear with a seasons pass to a top notch mountain. Same thing as SR just wants better sex whereas I'm more into a nice date type atmosphere.

For some it's priority for some it's habit amounts to the same thing, I don't think most people with substantial amounts of money flaunt it just to show how "elite" they are, and are actually for the most part savvy spenders.

Better to look like a Bum and fly under the radar, I personally know a couple of extremely wealthy multimillionaire's. They own expensive airplanes, nice yaht's have different homes in Whistler, ranch up country awesome house in the Valley. You could never tell by looking at them, one guy loves his old pickup truck the other looks like a homeless dude wearin a sweater with holes in it. The bank teller disregarded him till she saw all the zero's on the check he deposited! Some filthy rich folks still are just regular guys at heart! The lesson is never judge a book by it's cover!

I don't mean to be rude but my BS detector is twitching involuntarily. There's an element of traditional BC fantasy about this story that has it's place, I suppose.

Why would someone who has a fancy boat be driving a beat up truck? Why would they go into the bank in grubs?
