Why review?

I recently saw an SP that hasn't been reviewed before.
I've reviewed over 20 times in the past yr.
There are so few reviews on Perb these days it seems.

Why should I review?

It always seemed to me that the big fault of PERB was the small number of Reviews. It is a review board, right?

The way myredbook.com works is you have two choices: (1) Write a review every 6-8 weeks and get free access to all the other reviews, or (2) Pay $12.95 a month, the last I checked.

Access to the other forums is always free, but reviews are only for those who pay or those who write reviews.

I like the concept but IMO PERB would need a total relaunch to pull it off. The precedent has been set that this is a free site and would be tough to get people to start paying.

Or get branded a shill...
If it looks, walks and quacks like a shill then it probably is. My point is that when long term members call someone out for shilling its usually deserved. Its too fucking dodgy to have an SP who's either brand new or has a hissssssstory of offering sssssshitty service to all of a sudden get glowing reviews.

Actually there have been many times where people calling out Shill, even from senior members, have been wrong. Just an observation. Not meant as a
dig towards anyone. That being said, I do agree with you to the point your img's are making

The two most over used words I see are Shill and Stalker.

(and yes InTheBum we will take extra care to watch your posts)

The "no review list" doesn't help

It doesn't help that many reviews posted about advertisers that actually provide objective and balanced reporting are getting deleted like the one again today on Tiffany and her many no-shows.

Why take the time to share such experiences with fellow members so they can make their own informed decisions when they just get deleted anyway.

What's with the no review list? Maybe it can be posted so we at least know who we can review and who we can't if that is the case.

It's important to do a review, even if the SP has been reviewed many times before. 6 months is an eternity in this industry, circumstances are constantly changing. At the very least, members get up to the minute reports of service.
Of course, you have to be thick skinned, and prepared for flak whether you're writing something positive ("shill!!!") or negative. ("troll!!").
If we don't write about our experiences, what is the point of this board?

I think the shill calls and no review lists are a minor irritance to posting reviews.
The major reason perberts don't review is just plain laziness. It's hard work and takes time.
I'd like to find a review board that forces you to pay or review to read the reviews. Thanks for passing that on SFMike.
Anyone able to start such a board?
