Not being a gambler, maybe somebody can explain this to me. Why do so many Canadians go south to the States to gamble, when we have plenty of casinos here? Are the odds way better than here in Canada? Just something I never understood. Appreciate any info.

Free drinks, more available gaming tables with lower limits, if your luck sucks you can go across the street and try another place, loads of live music with dance floors. Lots of outside seating where you can watch the crowds walking by, CaboWabo in Vegas has some great above sidewalk seats where you can see some crazy shit!🤣 Canadian casino’s close the tables down so you have to crowd on what is available and play with moron gamblers that have no clue what they are doing, the list goes on……!

Odds are better, food is cheaper, you can smoke inside, you actually win more money (USD>CAD).

I don't know. A lot of blackjack tables payout 6:5 instead of 3:2. And the exchange rate means the reverse is true too: you can actually lose more money. Smoking inside isn't much of a draw now but could be if you've forced out to the warming patio for a drag in a Canadian casino.

Food is cheaper though.

The buffets for one thing and free beverages at least soda unlike in Canada. Sadly, even in Vegas buffets now are becoming fewer. Slots tend to be looser in the USA too. It's also just a different vibe than in Canada.

Food isn't cheaper anymore. Since the pandemic, inflation hit the Yanks harder than Canadians. Many nearby casinos are now smoke-free. Winnings in the USA are subject to a winning tax, unlike in Canada.

If you are a gambler, then going to Vegas is like going to a candy town with many many candy stores.
More casino, 24/7, more table, etc.
Also being a tourist city with many many things to do (for your friends that is)

It's like a pooner making an annual trip to Bangkok or somewhere similar.

If you are a poker player like myself, Vancouver is small and not too many games/tables.
I go to LA/Vegas more than 10 times a year (also Calgary, Montreal - more and bigger action than Vancouver by far)
