Why deposits?

I posted what is written below in a review of a local service provider because a Perb contributor wrote the following:

"IF she was real and confident and honest then she should not have to ask for a deposit"

I wanted to post it in the lounge, because I felt it was something that needed to be said and I didn't want it to get lost because it was part of a review.

If clients were honest and reliable, which most are, but a great number of them are not, then deposits would not be required. These ladies take a great deal of time getting ready for an appointment, take time out of their day to drive to the incall, only to have a client not show up. If you do a little research you would realise that a very large number of the reputable ladies currently working in this Industry worldwide are now requiring deposits, some even asking for some sort of ID, Perb handle or LinkedIn, beca because of the growing percentage of clients that have proven that they cannot be trusted.

Your opinion is not based in fact, it's based on your lack of knowledge of this business, and how much it has changed over the years. The introduction of deposits was almost unheard of 5 years ago, but has quickly become the standard because of the number of clients that have disrespected these ladies by not showing up for a scheduled appointment. Short notice cancellations, with some ridiculous excuses, and out and out no shows are increasing. It has become so prevalent that these ladies have had no choice but to require some sort of guarantee through a deposit. There are certainly many reputable beautiful Service Providers not requiring deposits, but that number is becoming smaller and smaller.

If you don't want to pay a deposit that is completely your right. However accusing of service provider of not being honest and real because she charges a deposit is ignorant. More and more service providers will start asking for deposits iN the future, and if you are unwilling to pay that deposit, you're going to miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the company of some of the most amazing beautiful young women that work in this industry.

However, let’s not be naive and ignore the fact deposits have brought many scammers into the industry that were not prevalent before. They simply post and collect monies from men whom are not wise enough to do business with established agencies or providers with real credibility.

This topic doesn't really need another long discussion. Any guy who says they don't understand why ladies ask for a deposit is clueless and hasn't been paying attention to the reality of this business for quite a long time. The ladies have incredibly long lists of time wasters, no-shows and other idiots, deposits weed out those or compensate them when their time is wasted.

Scammers use them too, no question, but if you use PERB properly and avoid randoms off Leolist, there's zero reason you should be caught by a deposit scam. If a legitimate issue arises with a deposit and it has happened occasionally, then PERB can help get that resolved too. Buyer beware and thread closed.
