Altho Bertuzzi got an assist on the 3rd goal, did he not? *g* Go BERTUZZI!! Go The difference this year WILL be BERTUZZI ((okay writing this BEFORE the end of game Press Conference - RE: Bertuzzi)) **shawna**
shawna my dear we must have patience. Sitting in are underwear, drinking beer the art of hockey looks easy, but patience. Burke, Crawford know what they are doing. Lets refrain from bitching until the ship is actually sinking. We all need a positive attitude. It brings good karma. --- Kev
The beef last year with the Canucks was, there defence sucks. This year they have really kicked it up a huge notch. I agree the top line needs to pick it up, and i feel they will. But before judgement is passed look at the standings of the other teams. Colorado isn't doing as well as the expected either.
I'll chill and wait and see.......it will come. --- Kev
Sorry to be the fly in everyone's ointment, but signing Bertuzzi may not be the the great deal everyone thinks it is. 1. it inflates the team's payroll. 2. ups the ante on everyone else they want to re-sign in the future. 3. Pisses off the players making less. 4. Bertuzzi was an underachiever all his career up until two seasons ago. What if the Bertuzzi who has scored five goals in his last 35 games (end of last season/playoffs/ start of this season) is the REAL Bertuzzi? What does Burke say then? Oops?
I certainly hope Bertuzzi can pick it up, otherwise he joins a long list of big coantracts that never performed up to expectations. He has A LOT of pressure on him now....
The contract was signed BEFORE Sunday's game and still Bertuzzi played like crap most of the game. The word "floater" is starting to fit him. With even more pressure because of the huge contract he may revert to a 14-goal - $7 million man. And what happens is Naslund goes back to Sweden?
