Honor Blackman was 37 I think when she starred as Pussy Galore and was the oldest of the Bond girls. If I recall correctly she was cast as a Lesbian/man hater.

One of the sexiest shoots of a woman in a bone movie .. was the dead secretary . in Dr no... And then there was the dead golden girl.. and the dead Maud Adams in Man with the Golden Gun....
And don't for get Babara Caraira. She is one of the hotest ladies out there..Yes Never say Never is a bond movie .. one of the best.

Perhaps the actresses of nowadays should learn something from the late Katherine Hepburn, possessing both beauty and intelligence, well read, worldly but not cheap, and learn to age gracefully. Her real life romance with Spencer Tracey, a married man, should be made into a movie. But then could Hollywood find someone to play Kate Hepburn and Spencer Tracey with fidelity and grace???

I think women like you described are rare in any era, and weren't necessarily more prevalent then compared to now. Time just separates the classics from the rest, and so the classics are what we remember.

I agree whole heartedly about Hepburn, an actress who really has no equal (but Meryl Streep comes damn close).
