As this is sort of a tennis thread I will tag this on. Canada's best hopes in the future of winning Grand Slams will be on presentation at the OdlumBrown Open August 12-20
Francois Abanda is 20 years old, won her first match at Wimbledon this year and took French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko to three sets and nearly beat her in the second round. I watched Denis Shapovalov beat Thomas Berdych at a preWimbledon grass tournament though the 18 year old did lose in the first round at Wimbledon I believe he has a much better chance than Milos Raonic does of ever winning a major during his upcoming career.
Tennis Canada is also high on 17 year old Bianca Andreescu who also appeared at Wimbledon this year, a top world junior who qualified her way into the tournament but was eliminated first round. All have bright futures and they and others will be on display during this tournament, which a couple of years ago was won by now world #6 I believe, Johanna Konta from Great Britain. Should be some good tennis on display.
