I'm amused by how quick some people are to jump down someone's throat, relax - bunched panties chafe. I have paid and free ads elsewhere and was already in contact with Perb about getting set up here as an advertiser before I commented on this thread so no need for the "free is too expensive" jab.

This is a thread on CL ads getting flagged but my comment was directed at a derogatory post about asian micros. Yes, I threw in a rant about getting flagged this morning on CL, and yes I admit partly for self promotion so I quickly deleted the offending post afterwards.

To be clear, I was in no way asking for tips on posting on CL (especially from someone who has no firsthand experience posting in the ES section) as I've been doing it successfully for months with generally the same ad and only 1 previous flag - in Vancouver and touring cities. You ARE allowed to advertise in other cities and they do not limit your posts based on your area code, it's spamming that is in violation of their Terms of Use which is an entirely different thing. My comment to enlighten me was an invitation to prove what I said was wrong, which you didn't, because I'm not. Pillowtalk, I'd be happy to debate this with you over some chocolate flavoured massage cream

Since beating a dead horse can be therapeutic I'll clarify that I don't overpost, 2-4x's a week (maybe 5 if I'm reeeeally bored) and my ads are barely racey enough for the ES section. Yes there's lots of creepers on CL but I've had nothing but fantastic clients grace my bedsheets, consider me lucky I guess!

If you want enlightenment, go to the CL help desk forums for flagging, give them the information. Those are the ones with the expertise on flagging. Ask about the link to the UNofficial Flag FAQs. It seems obvious something went awry with that, since it worked really well 2 days ago.

In any case, I doubt this is the right place to seek help on flagging from CL, since it is CL that has the forums for help.

Besides that, no one can tell why your particular ad got flag/deleted without seeing what you are doing: where you posted and what you posted and how soon it disappeared. When you are posting in Edmonton, do you have an account set up using an Edmonton ph#? If not, then what did you expect lol.

@ apple juice, you may not believe there is anything wrong with cross posting. I may not believe there is anything wrong with it either. But frankly it is not up to you or I, it is up to CL. If you are using an account with an Edmonton 780 area code and try to post an ad using that account in Calgary 403, you will get deleted, and the more you get deleted the closer you are to getting your account permanently blocked. So go at it, if there is nothing wrong with it you should be A-OK lol.

REally, I don't make the rules for CL. If you don't like what is happening with your ads, find out yourself how to fix it. Whatever cuteangie is doing is working now, when it did not before.

I do not know if what you say is true. My girl posts in her home city and everywhere else before a tour and when she tours using just one account. Her ads only get flagged in 2 Canadian cities where flagging is an issue.

Also someone mentioned you can only flag once from your computer, surprisingly there is ways around that in which you can flag an ad without a proxy from the same computer and watch an ad get flagged down. If you are an advertiser you shouldn’t be flagging ads as they track those IP’s

I know in the past the professional SPAMMERs used to use flagging programs to immediately delete legitimate postings so there was less competition. More people would then reply to their fake ads which were used to direct people to SCAMS and other advertisers. These SPAMMERs would then collect revenue for all traffic they would direct towards their clients.

The SPAMMERs have essentially ruined the casual encounters and dating sections of CL.
