Incalls in Edmonton

I have also wondered about the legal aspects of unlicensed incalls in Edmonton, Calgary, etc. and the risk of being arrested should law enforcement, whether the police or bylaw enforcement, decide to target the incall location. In my view, the risk is that law enforcement would conduct surveillance on these locations to identify customers, and subsequently interview them as potential witnesses in court. Naturally none of us would be too keen on being interviewed or, heaven forbid, served with a subpoena to testify.

And no, I am not a competitor; just a normal guy conducting he due diligence. And yes, I could, and do, stay away from incall locations. Having said this however, I would attend incall locations if these are acceptable under current legislation. This would certainly open up many more opportunities.

Does anyone know whether incalls are acceptable, especially in Edmonton?

Does anyone remember the Bonaventure Massage Studio? It was busted, the male owner in court, and lots of publicity.

Over 20 customers ended up being called as witnesses whether they liked it or not.

Today, studios are run better and the majority cooperate with bylaw, and fortunatly as customers we are not exposed to this grief.

Incalls in Edmonton

I do remember the Bonaventure (which of course is gone now and replaced by a sporting goods outlet - still awful access though) and the project the EPS had. I doubt they will send in a paid agent again due to the obvious controversy but the clients who were witnesses were invaluable to their case. I was also advised the police interviewed the witnesses at their place of employment or business, and if the witness was less than cooperative the police showed up at his personal residence. If I recall correctly the massage parlour was convicted. It's my understanding there were problems (likely drug related) with that establishment, and therefore it became a subject of an investigation.

I believe the majority of today's massage parlours (if not all) are operated professionally and business-like, therefore not attracting the attention of law enforcement. This gives me a great deal of comfort in attending these establishments without fear of being recorded in a surveillance operation.

Unlicensed incalls, on the other hand, seems to pose some risk. As we know there are several incall operations in Edmonton. These, in my view, are a high risk for a law enforcement operation especially given they seem to be increasing in number over the years. I would think law enforcement might commence an operation to prevent the 'problem' from getting out of hand. Obviously incalls could not be eliminated completely, but we all know it is easier to nip a 'problem' in the bud before it develops further.

Many clients might argue that he has done nothing wrong and therefore could not be charged with any crime. The point, however, is not the client being charged but that the client might end up being visited by the police and being served a subpoena to testify in court. Some might not care, but this is a risk that I, and I suspect many of us, would rather avoid.

When Whisper Jackie first placed her ad, I called it and she readily offered incall. She mentioned it was a condo near Heritage Mall. Couple things come to mind now:

1) How could an out-of-towner (from Toronto), show up in Edmonton and find a condo in todays housing market? One would think that anything empty would've been scooped up as soon as it became available.

when i started this post i just wanted to try and understand why jackie seemed to drop out of site when we were in the middle of making plans. she no longer answered messages and her phone was going unanswered while her messages piled up.

in response came an inquisition as to why she was able to find a place to live...preplanning before a move would explain it....why she isn't at a MP..because she is an independent and does not want to....a tirade about law enforcement and her mode of doing business and a questioning of her motives and everything else about her.

give me a break..don't turn a simple question into a recruiting poster...let the lady do business as she sees fit and let pooners take whatever measures they see fit in the pursuit of their hobby. how did this one lady get to the top of the hit list.

since i posted she has contacted me and outlined the reasons she was away...all seems reasonable. if you are at all worried about meeting with her request outcall.

in short....give the lady a break and move on...everyone deserves to make a living and if they have something you want and it is available.. go for it....if you have worries or do not like the asking price..move on and let the world evolve as it will.....just my 2 cents

My daily PR ???? Where I work, I'm professional, polite and don't swear to a customer. Professionalism counts towards repeat business, no matter what you do.

The way Whisper Jackie replied and the language she used shows a lack of professionalism on her behalf. At no time did I use any vulgar language towards her or about her, as she did to me. Now who's lacking the PR skills?

I wasn't the one who brought up the topic about Law Enforcement. If you check the thread, it was first hinted at by "YMMVGUY" and then again by "DUFFER888" and then it goes between the two of them for a bit. I only added my two cents at what I experienced.
