I vote to "The Hobbit: an Unexpectedly Journey" by Peter Jackson.

I think it gonna beat down "Avenger" and "Dark Knight Rise" !

A little LOTR trivia
One of the most popular "trilogies" of fantasy books, The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien,
is not a trilogy, though it is often referred to as such. Tolkien regarded it as a single work and divided
it into a prologue, six books, and five appendices. Because of post-World War II paper shortages, it
was originally published in three volumes. It is still most commonly sold as three volumes, but has
also been published in one-volume and seven-volume editions (six books and the appendices).

Good thing about Jackson is he knows how to properly pace his movies.... unlike Tolkien...

Huge +1 for Skyfall... I love the part where he lands in the train and straightens his cuff links, very Bond. But I do feel Craig's Bond owes a lot to Jason Bourne.

Add Q (Ben Whishaw who is terrific in anything he does) and Bardem (Bad Hair and all) and you can't go wrong.

Was also looking forward to Spielberg's " Lincoln " which is coming out this November. During summer you'll have Honest Abe as a Vampire Hunter for the UFC demographic but come fall you'll have a Lincoln movie that will be good enough to make lead actor Daniel Day-Lewis walk the red carpet come Oscar time and even bring home the Best Actor plum.

The movie might be lucky to break even but it has a great message about slavery and racial discrimination which is still pretty much prevalent in our midst.

I was looking forward to Batman Rises. I liked it, but wasn't as good as I hoped. Now, I think I'm looking forward to the Hobbit and Lincoln as well. :)

The two movies that I was most looking forward to this year were Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. My hopes were pretty high for Avengers and I feel like the movie delivered exactly as promised. My hopes were not as high for Dark Knight Rises, simply because I didn't think it was possible to match the greatness of the previous film in the franchise. Despite pacing flaws, I still think it was pretty strong over all. As for what's left for the rest of this year, I'm still looking forward to quite a few releases before the year's end. A few have already been mentioned. Here are a few more:

Seven Psychopaths looks like it's going to be amazing.

Also looking forward to Looper.

Unmentioned thus far is Wreck - it - Ralph the next 3D film.
