Too early to say, really. I have a printed book from the 1700's. E-readers haven't been around long enough . I'll tell you one thing though - an antique DIGITAL book would never be WORTH as much as a paper one.

No electronic device has a lifespan of more than a decade or two. Then there's software - a whole other issue for useability.

I've pretty much given up on my e-reader, unless the material I want is only available in electronic form. I'm the type of reader who'se always going back a few pages, or chapters to check details, and it's too difficult on an e-reader.

Digital storage is generally a magnetic medium, which will decay with time. CDs or DVDs can last for a longer time, but they need a reader or they're useless. The plastics degrade over time, but more slowly. Acid free paper has the longest life expectancy.

Printed books are better. The only time I buy a book in E-book form is when I am unable to find a physical copy.
