I've entertained guest's from out east in Calgary and found it easy as we are very different in a lot of ways.
BUT where would you take a visitor from Vancouver, I mean they've got mountains, Van is also a beautiful city and they have the ocean. We could go to Banff but they'd say it looks familiar only they call it Whistler. If it were'nt for the economics who would'nt want to go there instead?

While we're on the subject....if another sp were to visit here for her first time, would there be an honest interest?

You could PM me for more details

In a nice wet pussy!
All depends how far you are willing to drive. You could take him/her to Sylvan Lake in the summer, or Dinosaur Park near Drumheller. Banff is really not like Whistler, but why do they charge us to visit the damn place? Jasper is very nice. If your guest is technically oriented, the Tar Sands is an idea; or how about Fort McMurray? How about fishing at Lake Wabamun, I think it's called? Once you get past the black flies, that is. Some First Nations sites have a lot of interesting things to look at; the Calgary Indian Friendship Centre, Ghost River Discovery, Glenbow, Head Smashed In Buffalo. The Alberta Provincial Museum has a lot to offer as well.

Gee, makes me want to come over for a visit sometime soon...

Which I should point out is located in Edmonton, not Calgary.

I think Whistler and Banff are both different in many ways, including the reasons for their existences. Whistler is a commercial ski resort for the global elite, whereas Banff is situated in a long-beloved national park that's accessible to anyone. Even the geology between the two places has many subtle differences.

Your best time to entertain visitors to Alberta is in the summer. Hot weather, sunlight from 5 AM to 10 PM, and scantily-clad ladies is a good enough reason to visit either Edmonton or Calgary. Plus, there's all the events and festivals that take place: the Stampede in Cowtown, the Fringe in E-town, and the various music festivals.

You could take her to Penhold, Alberta.

But then, maybe it's only me that has a fondness for that place.

:D :D :D

I thought the coolies(sp?) were cool, and I had never seen them before being from the west coast. Therefore Dinosaur Provincial park has some great scenery, and I loved the drive thru Drumheller. I would love to go back.

A deep gulch or ravine, but that doesn't do them justice, they are works of art! I was tripped out when I first saw them!! I had to pull over and look closer, I thought I was having acid flashbacks and the hills were melting! Just kidding but that describes them better...

I believe those weird hill formations are known as "hoodoos".
