Where to find a Hugo Boss suit in the Fraser Valley

Wedding season is coming up upon us, and I need a new suit because my newest ones are 5 years old and 3 buttons.

Anyone know where I can get a 2 button Hugo Boss suit at a good price in the Fraser Valley? I don't want to spend the $$ on a Canali or Zegna because I don't wear suits that often. Hugo Boss seems to be the entry level suit.

I was also thinking about going grey. I think the Don Draper look is still in.

I see. How about a Brooks Brothers suit? I currently wear Cole Haan shoes, but they are approaching 20 years old. 3 of the 4 pairs were made in the U.S., and the 4th pair came from Mexico when they moved production. The leather of the Mexico shoe is obviously different and it doesn't hold polish well. Appears to be the same stitching, but I am definately not as happy with the 4th pair.

I was thinking of picking up some Allen Edmonds, but they are up there in price.

A while back I went to a corporate Christmas party and saw a hot co-worker in a sleeveless gold dress. I complimented her on it, and she proudly said that it cost her $30 at Winners.

I have a Boss suit, an Armani suit, and a Holt Renfrew suit, but I receive just as many compliments if not more for the $300 Perry Ellis suit I bought from The Bay.

My conclusion from this is that the most important thing is that you want suit that fits you properly, and you can get that in a $300 suit just as you can in a $3 000 suit. For an event as important as a wedding, I would say it's worth getting your suit tailored to make sure it fits you. Check this out: http://www.esquire.com/style/tips/suit-fit-0708

Expensive suits have their place but IMHO they are more about (1) how confident you feel when you wear them, and (2) how they physically feel on you. My Boss and Armani suits have silk lining and feel great sliding them over me when I put them on. But do I look better in them? Meh.

My experience is that the average person notices a good matching tie as much as the suit itself.

Unless you are part of the wedding party, if you are budget-conscious I say spend about $300 to $400 bucks and maybe another $80 getting it tailored.

I think I'll check out Brooks Brothers then. I think they are around the same price as the Boss black. If it's good enough for Don Draper, it's good enough for me. Where can I look at them? I am a 38R with 31-32 waist, so am pretty cookie cutter. Usually I just have to get the cuffs on the pants and sleeves tailored. I find that Hugo Boss fits me well because of my drop.

My Cole Haans are leather soled, pre Nike buyout. It may be worthwhile to replace the heels with just a bit taller ones as the stock ones are kind of low.

I'm going to a wedding and was thinking about a medium grey with my black oxfords or semi brogues. I have a white Hathaway 100% cotton shirt with french cuffs. I need a new tie as mine are over 5 years old.

Spermie,

Do you buy suits online? ebay retailers have good prices if you can find one you like. It's tough finding a plain blue or grey suit though.

I am not a clothes guy, but I can tell you shopping in the fraser valley for a nice suit is pointless, I grew up there.
You will be able to find a Boss suit downtown, and the expensive stores.
But remember this is Canada, and shopping downtown is all factored into price.

For example, my buddy just bought 2 Boss suits, shirts, ties, and whatnot. In NYC, figures he saved more money than his airfare and hotel (Barneys). I have also personally bought high end suits in Vegas, and you always save enough to at least pay your airfare and hotel

Any good places to go suit and shoe shopping in the Bellingham area then if it is cheaper to buy in the U.S.? I have a Nexus and live relatively close to the 176 St. crossing.

I searched for men's suits in Bellingham and came up with Men's Warehouse, which sells Ralph Lauren and Macy's which doesn't seem to sell top names. They have a Hugo Boss suit for $795, but I think that's what they are in Canada.

I don't know about Bellingham, but I wouldn't expect too much given its blue collar history and now a college town.

But if you drive 30 minutes further south, there is Seattle Premium Outlet. It is north of Marysville and nowhere near Seattle. Many brands. I've never shopped there, but know many Asian women in Richmond who flock there and swear by it.

In fact if I am not mistaken there is a Hugo Boss outlet there. I bought a Boss suit there myself a couple of years ago, very reasonably priced but definitely not their top of the line stuff.

They have a brooks brothers outlet there too.....

I always stop by the outlet in Vegas.

Call these places up in Marysville. See if they have suitable suits.
Its about 70-80 minute drive once you cross into the states.

I noticed on their website that the Hugo Boss brand they carry is HUGO Hugo Boss, not BOSS Hugo Boss. HUGO Hugo Boss is the trendier, more youthful slim-fitting collection for a younger clientele whereas BOSS Hugo Boss (black label) is Hugo Boss' primary, more "general" collection, if you will. When people refer to Hugo Boss, they're usually referring, whether they realize it or not, to BOSS Hugo Boss.
Thanks. I'm thinking that they don't have suits from what you said because most high end suit places sell Armani, Canali, Zegna and at the low end Hugo Boss.

Do you cross the border to buy suits Spermie?
