I can't believe there is a heated debate about a bike lane.

as mentioned there already is one.

Where is the option for going in circles right outside of Fudd's residence?

During rush hour 4th/5th/6th/9th/10th/11th/12 ave have no parking between 6:30 AM -8:30 AM and from 3:30-PM-6:00 PM and all of these avenues are 1 way with the exception of 10 ave which is 2 way....the westbound curb lane is now a bike lane and traffic bottlenecks and is completely fucked when somebody driving westbound makes a left hand turn....first day of it being open and it was a joke...of course there were many bike cops stationed all the way along it being total dicks giving out tickets to drivers who went around a car making a left turn by *briefly* using the bike lane.

Does that spell it out clearly enough for you?

SR
Not really, no. I will look at the google map thing to see what you're describing. I gather your real beef is not any actual traffic delay, but tickets given out to drivers. Did you get one?

Do you still remember the civic election in November 2011? City of Van's government got approval to do whatever the government wants to do to the city. About 56% vote yes to this plan! Now you know why just a bike lane can lead into a heated debate!

No my FUCKIN BEEF is the traffic delay....cripes I spot cops looking to give out tickets like it is second nature/instinctual....I did not get a ticket but I saw a bunch of people who did.

It is the usual thing with "silly hall" in Calgary...bring in an abrupt change that fucks people over and cash in with fines with the CPS enforcing a brutal yet completely unknown bylaw.

I dont need to "google" it as I have experienced it....and I described my experience just as detailed as I would a review of an SP....if it WERE a review of an SP the BIKE LANE in question would be a money hungry YMMV time wasting slut.......now does that make it any clearer for you are are you just plain fucking dumb?

I did review about a dozen and a half posts and, as you well know, there was nothing there. You've said it's in all his posts, so why can't you point to one? It's incumbent upon you to show that he did, not on me to show that he didn't.

Maybe it's because you're just a typical lunatic fringe right winger who thinks anyone who isn't part of your John Birch Society crowd is part of the remote left. IOWs, the type of person who wouldn't recognize the middle of the road if their life depended on it.
You really have no clue do you. Just because I and 90% of everyone else can see Fudd is so far to the left he can't even see the center you think everyone else is a lunatic.

I think it's becoming apparent that you're making things up, that far from Fudd being on the far left you're on the remote right.

I went to Japan.... and we though cyclists here were bad, lol.

No helmets, usually riding on sidewalks on larger roads, seen a lot of people making turns going against traffic. Lots of bike lanes and rules, but hardly anyone follows them.

The foundations that the government is supposed to provide! What the fuck else don't you understand? Roads, yes we have. But public transportation, no! Translink is a total failure for at least 16 years since the day I'm here in metro vancouver! So, why the hell on earth do they earn at least CAD$22.5 per hour if they can't provide the basic service?
For your education, public transit is a service, though essential, is not a foundation.

We in Vancouver and the rest of the Lower Mainland, aka Metro Vancouver formerly known as the GVRD do have public transportation for almost 100 years, starting with streetcars and busses to what we have today, busses, skytrain, and the Seabus, along with the Handidart program. The last 16 years only takes you to 1996, and they've had basic services and more even prior to that.

So what the fuck are you talking about? $22.50 an hour who? Bus drivers? Skytrain attendant? In your words, if they are not providing basic services, then what the fuck are those huge vehicles with lots of people on board painted blue and yellow? Looks like basic transit services to me.

You have no idea, don't you. Your arguments are weak and ineffectual.

Silly meaningless poll, when you leave out the most logical solution....NO BIKE LANE ON BROADWAY.
But I am sure Fudd knew that.
EXACTLY!

Hell put it right in the middle so drivers travelling in both directions get a crack at them!

Oh, really?! Then stay fucking at home. Don't take public transportation, don't drive, don't walk. Simply say, DON'T STUPID MOVE! Stupid idiot! Everyone who works at Translink earns at least $22.5 per hour! What an ignorant?! Haha! It seems like you don't care about your society and you don't know what the basic living foundations are!

In Vancouver, yes there are, especially parallel to Broadway. In Calgary....seems their mayor is worse than Gregor, he sounds like a complete nut.
Yeah ol Mayor Nenshi who won the election due to having a good spin doctor and a lot of interaction with social media.....the Mayor who takes credit for completed projects that were started before he took office...the Mayor who praised the allmost near completion of the new 21 million un-needed artsy-fartsy foot bridge that is well over 1 year past completion and 4 million over budget...the Mayor who let a bunch of people occupy Olympic Plaza when they were in violation of City Bylaws....the Mayor who allowed a multi-million severance package to the former CEO of Enmax who was caught accepting graft.....and yeah...the fucking Mayor who introduced the fucking bike lanes and even thinks a "bike sharing" program that will be paid for by tax-payers is a good idea....Oh but Calgary is cosmopolitan and open minded because we elected an east indian as Mayor.....fuck I dont care what color he is...straight up he is a credit taking dumb-fuckoid who does not have the balls to stand up to the career bureaucrats employed by the city that spend tax dollars like drunken sailors on shore leave.

End of rant....and yeah I fuckin hate bike lanes.

I bike, and I agree there isn't a need for a bike lane on Broadway. 10th runs parallel and has a bike late until Trout Lake Park and the Central Valley Greenway runs all the way to New West.

As for the motorists. I know you hate bike lanes, and public transit and would rather sit in your SUV's while you bitch and moan about everybody else and really bitch and moan about those less short sighted than you. If you actually looked at it, if you had to go into downtown the skytrain makes the most sense. No parking problems, cheap, fast, never stuck in traffic. If you were smart you would drive to a skytrain station and use it. It isn't the answer to everything but it would make it so you didn't care if there was a bike lane down Broadway.

You are most of the problem but since your taxes pay for most of the roads, I will just smile and wave as I go by you on my bike.

Had to work thru the holidays and paid some CAD draftsman a fortune to get the drawings done. But I handed my section in this afternoon. The plan is for the North side bike lane but I did make a reference to a center lane and had 1 drawing with a center lane layout.

Any body here have a ideal what the normal hourly rate for a CAD draftsman is? I get the feeling we got gouged because we asked for the drawings over the X-mas holidays.

Wow 6 pages of replys. Did not think there would be so much responses I'll catch up with you guys and gals later. I just want to take a break away from a computer now.

Yes, six pages of reply but only 9 people voted in your poll. I bet you would have had many more votes had you put in the "no bike lane on Broadway" option. But then again, you would not have had the result you wanted in that case since most people would have chosen the "no bike lane" option. Nice objective poll...not!
