Where Should the Bike Lane Be Along Broadway?

This thread has to be a joke. Either that or very dishonest.
Fudd wants to take a poll, to use as data with his meeting with the mayor.
He has intentionally left off the NO bike lane option.

Why? Cause for Fudd, this is not an option he agrees with, so therefore not a voting option.

Now when he goes in to see the mayor....

Not everyone who thinks a bike lane down the middle of broadway is a bad idea, thinks ALL bike lanes are a bad idea. I think bike lanes are a good idea, if done correctly.
I have been to European cities that have very interesting systems. Proper bike lane planning in Vancouver is what is needed. CIty planners....engineers......computer analysts....this is how that is done. Not by clans of treehuggers, with the primary goal of reducing cars. Fudds idea has nothing to do with easing congestion.

I honestly can't think of many worse places for a new bike lane than the middle of broadway.
Even the current mayor will know this is a silly idea.

But generally speaking, that's what the people think. Otherwise, vision van won't be the government for vancouver.

FUDD's ideas of bike lane because the mayor PROMISES bike lanes, stupid! Read their policies!

They do it even better in Japan. I was over as part of a delegation and the city I was in had intersections that had a cycle in which all vehicles were stopped and pedestrians could cross in any direction - even diagonally. So, the pedestrian could accomplish in one light cycle what it takes two light cycles to do here.

Buses stop and load/unload in the traffic lane outside of the cycle lane. If you look at what happens here, the Bus stops and loads/unloads in the cycle lane which causes the cyclists to do insane stuff to get around the Bus.

The difference with Japan and Europe of course is that they aren't the car culture that we are. The streets are much more pedestrian and cyclist friendly.

That's because they have built a very good foundation for the public transit system. Here in Canada, especially in metro vancouver, there's no foundation. They are only doing part of their jobs, not full. Therefore, we shouldn't have funded Translink anymore money. Translink will have to deal with their fucking financial problems. Losing 9 million dollars every year since start of service is unacceptable. Tell the board of directors to pay for future development!
