I have tried to find them at Walmart, Simons, the Bay but most retail outlets don't have them. Are they still produced? My father always told me to keep one in the pocket just in case.

Neckerchiefs. Buy them at ladies store (scarves) if you want to add a little colour to your denim. They are larger and more functional. They keep your neck warm, your face warm, dust filter, flies out of your mouth, covid mask, bandage, tourniquet, wet it and you have a cooling cloth for around your neck or head...but never use it to blow your nose.
I am starting to notice that on Amazon, its not the cheapest price due to lots of people "buying up products and re-sale at a higher value", Amazon does not inform you if there is a cheaper price on its website, forcing you to take the higher price item. The result inflation. You will notice this is you scroll down the page and look at other similar item, but have scroll sideways to get to them.
Sure there are products, but for every item, they sale 3 to 4 of the same product. Pretty sure they have algorithms to separate them all/change item name, so you don't see the same items at different prices, But have different names, but are the exact same item packaged differently. Is it good business, or illegal representation of the same item.
Another way to fiqure it out, is with Amazon Prime (if you have it you get free shipping on items, limited quality). But sometimes the shipping costs alot (and its the first item you buy in a month), because its the higher price item, repackage by Entrepreneurs. sneaky...
