Well . . Maybe it was the author's point, not mine.

Like most people, you are confusing bogus magazine type "IQ tests" and/or group IQ tests with the individualized tests which are administered only by trained professionals. What is actually measured will always be debated, but, with the proper IQ test, it is indeed more than the capacity to process information. First and foremost, abstract thinking skills are being measured.

But in the end

the numbers mean diddly squat anyways.

They are just stupid tests, that give out bogus numbers.

And in many cases the person who scores higher than average, has to deal with problems of another kind.

Ranking high on an IQ test is actually a curse, not a blessing.

The main value of a credible individualized IQ test is in the information it gives to assist with educational programming. There are indeed many forms of intelligence that no IQ test can properly measure.

In a nice wet pussy!
I scored 140+ on that bogus IQ test that is making the rounds on various websites. When I saw that, I knew they were on a phishing expedition. Making you feel good about getting that high grade is the first step in reeling you in to buy their crap, in other words more tests...

"sarcasm is anger's ugly sister!"

Got that quote from a movie, I think starring Dustin Hoffman and Adam Sandler.

The point is... when you're sarcastic, some folks see humor, and some see the anger in behind it. I don't think IQ really has any bearing here.

For whatever its worth

maybe scoring high on things like IQ tests , does help explain other trials in ones life.
Maybe the inability to focus hard on just 1 thing at a time.
or the minds ability to only focus if it also has say 2 or 3 other things acting as a distraction at the same time.
Or the mind always being about a paragraph ahead of what you are typing.
It can even manifest itself as mild dyslexia, as the mind has processed so far ahead that the numbers or letters your hand is currently writing gets switched by accident.
Spelling can become hard, althought the person can spell better often than maybe the general public, the person cannot always get the letters in order as they write and type, due to the minds racing along on its own.

Also if you study it, people who score high on IQ tests tend to be more prone to nervous and mental break downs, and more likely to commit suicide.
if i had a choice, i would choose to be below average or average, than above average.

My 2 cents :)

I also want to add

that for kids in school that sometimes get tested, and score overly high. If this is made known to the teachers, theysometimes then put extra presure on the student , and actually it may make the student less likely to try, than if treated like everyone else.
