When Do You Know Your Addicted?

Ok as I sit here and think, I think I may be addicted to seeing my regular SP...
I don't know where that fine line between lovin' sex, and being an addict is. LOL
It started off as once a week I'd see her once a week, then it went to two times a week. This week and last week I have seen her three times each week.
Now I know it's not a situation of wanting more than professional services because I LOVE being single. It's just I damn well enjoy my sessions with her. I have an extremely high sex drive!

Addiction implies that the activity is harmful - so, sonce you can afford it, you are not losing out financially and she is gaining.

The question then becomes what else is this "addiction" harming? Are you missing out on other aspects of your life that you used to enjoy?

Ask yourself this, if she cut you off tomorrow, could you rejoin the rest of the world? What I mean is, have you lost touch with friends etc.?

If the answer to these is yes, then you are addicted in the harmful sense. IMHO

Good point. Life is normal. Just wanna visit more often. If I start feeling weak and faint from overworking Lil' Scotty, I will have to slow down.

I'm not a big fan of the theory of sexual addiction. Mainly because, unlike substance addiction, the recurring need comes off so fast once a man finds the right partner in this life. Compulsion is a more appropriate name for this phenomenon. I can speak for myself in this regard. After seven years of pooning around, I began to question whether I was in fact addicted. But, I also questioned the rationale behind this categorization, as it lacked substance and verily a foundation.

Even in the throes of a full-blown relationship, and all the familiar perks that come with it, a man can feel lonely, and this is the thirst that he seeks to quench by pooning around. Consciously or even sub-consciously, he believes that sooner, if not later, he will find a suitable replacement to fill this void he suffers.

The sexual act of procreation is just a convenient channel used for making intimate contact with another soul, which in many cases is suffering a similar circumstance. Therefore, labeling it an addiction, as many "experts" do, is an admission of a lack of understanding of the mechanisms that govern this condition.

If the little man is good to go - then go for it. If you start dumping other parts of your life and start justifying this to yourself or rationalizing it, then it may be time to take a step back from the abyss.

The term addiction is over used and misunderstood.

Addition in it's purist definition is: Anything that takes you away from regular life. Anything that you think will fill a void. Anything that alters your perseption of reality.

If you can afford it who gives a crap. Most of us are addicted to alot of (legal) stuff but as long as it's not bothering others why worry about it. If you're doing some sort of damage to yourself personally then you should be concerned. If I didn't live in a rural area with few SPs I'd be addicted too.
