When a SP reduces her rate for a review.

I was PMed by an SP enquiring if i would like a session with her, and if i did so and wrote a review she would reduce her rate by x amount of dollars. There never was any mention that the review had to be favourable. I have never met this girl and i am not really sure why she chose me. Unless she contacted all of you.

I told her i was not interested on the grounds that i don't review. I pass on information intermittently and thats it.

My questions are...

1) "If you heard that someone took advantage of this opportunity would you be upset?" Conflict of interest.

and...

2) "How many would take advantage of this opportunity if it presented itself?" Anything for a reduced rate. --- Kev

Still lost in the '60s
It's a common practice in other industries for journalists to receive favors from suppliers. Auto writers are taken on lavish free tips and given expensive gifts by car manufacturers. Travel writers get comp trips to exotic lands. All in hopes of getting some ink.

"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."

I'm not saying it's fair, I'm saying it's a common practice.

Well, I guess we could look at this like restaurant reviewing. Some magazines send out anonymous reviewers, for the reasons stated by Julia...to evaluate the "usual" service given out. Other magazines announce their critics, but pay for the dinner. Still others will send critics and accept free dinners, with the stipulation that the critics can write anything, not necessarily a favourable review. While it is true that perhaps the service/food will be a little more attentive/better prepared, you can still learn something from those reviews.

So, I have no problem with accepting a reduced rate in return for a review, AS LONG AS THIS IS REPORTED IN THE REVIEW. By declaring the potential conflict of interest, we can decide for ourselves how "trustworthy" the review might be (based on the reviewer's status, previous reviews, etc). The advantage of this board, of course, is that others can either support or refute the review.

This should not only apply to money, of course. If someone had some kind of personal relationship with the SP, I would want them to "declare" their potential conflict of interest.

In the review I for one would mention the discount. Remember we are all just trading information, If I knew that some one got a discount I would take that into account. For all I know some of these reviews could be from people getting discounts, boyfriends or the sp's themselves.
btw.. Victoria, your web site is down, when will we get to see the new you? Maybe I could post a review for you if you give me a disc...opps nevermind...lol

Brandee Lee (not to be confused with Victoria Lee) on her website was offering a $25 discount on the 'next' visit for those clients that would post a review on the local message boards. (Maybe she still does.) Again there was no mention of the review having to be favourable. Maybe these gals are so confident in themselves and the service they provide that to ask for a review about them just makes good business sense. --- Kev

Just do it!

I don't know about "this board is so full of ....

It would be nice to see a few more reviews on here. Even if they are a little biased. Eventually the truth comes out.

If you are offered a discount maybe put in this little detail somewhere. After all YMMV and YEMV. Myself I usually wait until an SP has been reviewed a few times before I see them so one review probably won't have me dialing her number.

I don't reall see any thing wrong with a reduced rate for a reveiw. I give free sessions all the time-to practice and in order to stir interest me and what I do. Word of mouth is then set in motion and it is out of my hands. All I can do is to make sure I give the best reading I can give at the time and not everyone will like their reading. At times I have to tell people stuff that they really do not want to hear, but it is there.

Lets face it, the escort industry is not regulated, nor should it be. These reveiw boards seem to encourage the idea that you will never again have a sub-standard session if you read the reveiws. Remember that even a reveiw from the most trusted member of the board may not ensure that you have a good session. You simply may not click with that particular sp.

duff no probs (I know we're just having fun) ... thanks, btw I'd prefer a coffee in perbchat. And thanks to Mod 2!

I would like to see more reviews. I miss Hamster, 2C, LA, LAG, P88, and others. So if a SP wants to give a discount so that she will have a review by someone who is as credible as Kev then I'm all for it.

Could this review be biased? Yes. Most reviews and sessions are!
Would the 1st time reviewer have a better time than those that follow? Who knows? We all know YMMV, YEMV. And if he has a great time because he's a reviewer then good for him!

Feel guilty about the discount? Send the discount to fred and ask him to credit the account of the SP. Fred gains, the SP gains, and you don't have to feel guilty.

The SP gets more biz from the review and the service deteriorates. Eventually (probably in a few days), the word will get out and her biz will suffer. The Sp's now in a worse position than she started in.

If the SP has spent the time and effort in finding out that Kev is a credible reviewer I doubt she's going to have a session with Kev which is over the top and subsequently give others poor service. Seems like such a waste of effort for a few bucks. Cost - Reward ratio seems pretty high to me!

quote...I'm guessing that you're not an escort but a palm reader or tarot card reader? If so, where are you located?

I am a reader and do not use anything other than what I see. I can not explain it any more than this. I have been on the road now for 2.5 years and am currently in Australia. I see that it is not the same really and I am not suggesting you give discounts. All I want to point out is that is not wrong to do so. It may not be the best form of marketing in your proffesion, that is all.

quote...I think this would be dangerous practise...are you worried someone people may abuse your generosity and just collect freebies? And the part about practise....you need practise? Should this not come naturally? Just wondering?

Hi Victoria-Being taken advantage of never really occures to me. I guess if some one wants to do that they can. Reading involves a level of trust on my part that was unimaginable to me before I started doing this. Actually it is not really trust. It involves throwing both trust and distrust out the window and just being with what happens. And I do not see it as generous. I love to do this. I would do it if I did not get paid. That I get paid is a bonus. I have kind of made a deal with life(some say the devil ;) that I will do this unconditionally and I need to be taken care of . This is what happens. The proof that it "works" is that here I am in Australia after having arrived in Sept. in London with $100 CDN in my wallet. The universe is very generous so if some one takes advantage of me-who cares.

As for honesty in my reveiws-unles I tell the truth absolutely as I see it then my readings are tainted anyway. It is impossible to give "tainted "readings and still see. I can't explain this even to myself but I know when I am "on" and when I am "off". If I am off then I tell the person. To do this for money really keeps me honest and as I have said-if the client does not feel 100% like giving me the fee then they do not have to.

But This is getting really off topic.Just wanted to point out that a solicited reveiw can be of use to us
