If you have a streaming device Season 2 of the Tourist just came out. Outstanding and good off beat humour…and killing and violence, loss of that too.

Well, I just got finished watching Reacher (season 2) on Amazon Prime. Fun stuff if you like action genre stuff.
I'm also watching the new season of True Detective, which is seat this time in Alaska, and stars Jodie Foster. (Cop show but leans heavily into the horror genre too.)

Re-watching the Sopranos. I can't believe it is 25 years since that came out.

Varies now
I just finished 'Fool Me once" on NetFlix. Excellent.

Reacher S2 left me a bit flat but I got over it due to the action. The character and the story arc is better as a one man weapon vs this hoo rah stuff.
Fool Me Once was good but ... a bit weak now and then. Would like to bone that lead actress!!
Finished Shetland S8, that got better as the season developed. Love the Scottish accents.
Late to the table but finished S1 of Loudermilk, will carry on with it but might end up bailing. Funny though!
Also late to the table for True Detectives, almost through S1 and have to say Haralson and McConaughey are just outstanding.
And Sopranos, finished it for the first time before Christmas. Really is the gold bar for TV series and it was done back in the day.
Watching Criminal UK, intense but decidedly low budget - its good and lots of thought provoking stuff.

Shetland is awesome. Reacher season one was great ... previews of season two have been a bit meh.

Brother's Son starting Michelle Yeoh. For whatever reason, Netflix decided to air all 8 episodes at once.

Oh, I should mention that the 3rd & last season of Hightown has begun. That was a surprise / I guess I missed the announcement.

David Chase (the creator of The Sopranos) recently said he thinks the recent "golden age" of TV / series content is coming to an end. With the recent decisions of some streamers like Netflix, Crave, Amazon, etc. to start infusing their streaming services with commercials, that will kill it. Once you start annoying viewers with commercial breaks, once you start toning down the adult-level storylines just to please advertisers (who fear social media grievance campaigns), you become as weak & unoriginal as the old TV networks. Everything is a sales pitch, therefore everything is watered down & the quality gets ruined.

I can believe that - paying through the nose just to not have what you watch ruined by excessive monetization has become a disgusting extortion tactic that the corporations have started adopting. It does not matter to the greedy executives that the public hates this shit, and they are too short sighted to see how people will turn their back on them and how that will sink them as a business. So I think Chase is right - the quality of content will suffer.

The Burial on Prime. True story about the downfall of a BC politician Ray Loewen. Funny at times but more of a legal strategy type movie. First time in a long time I’ve seen Tommy Lee Jones. Jamie Foxx is amazing as an over the top lawyer.

Oppnheimer on Prime. I saw it on a big screen in the theatre. Seeing it now I’ve been able to piece it all together. The politics and backstabbing hasn’t changed since 1950.

Huge Guy Ritchie fan here. Was hooked when I saw Rock'n'Rolla years back and have been enjoying his stuff since.
The movie, the Gentleman should have won awards but you know Hollywood and all.
Now the TV series on Netflix is truly outstanding. 2 to go in S1, enjoying every episode.
Finished both 1883 and 1923 on my IPTV, pretty dreary stories but that seems to be a thread in Taylor Sheridan's stuff.
Now into House of the Dragon on my IPTV and seriously thinking about re watching GOT.

The Gentlemen is excellent. Reacher S 1 was fantastic.
What went so wrong with season 2? It's awful. They turned him from an avenging angel into a remorseless, irrational psychotic that killed for no reason. The supporting cast were pointless drags on the plot.

Just re-watched The IT Crowd. Had forgotten how funny it was.

The Holdovers was the most entertaining of the Academy Award Best Picture nominees.
