Well, I stepped over to the dark side and got my first bbbj from an sp.

I am now extremely scared of the sti/STD risks. I've been doing research and found ot that syphilis, gc and clymidia is a high risk sti for bbbj.

I know this is going to be a long shot, but how many pooners who go for bbbj have gotten any sti's here? I'm not sure if this helps, but the bbbj portion was only 10 mins and it wasn't bbbjtc.

My biggest worry is HIV. The sticky up on the top of the forum states negligible risk, but otht sources have stated confirmed transmission. Any info out here that can ease my worries?

I'll be heading to a clinic soon, but the wait is excruciating!

So others reading this and not clicking the link don't get the wrong impression, the stats say "insignificant risk for HIV" but "high risk for several other STIs including herpes".
lol, but the HIV risk is used for rationalization. I found the new stats updated the risk levels of receiving a bbbj from low risk for all the stds previously into High Risk, which was interesting. The risk to the provider is still high across the board, of course.

HIV is not the only lifealtering std out there. Bring home chlamydia, and see how much your SO can alter your life.

I'm sure it was created with good intentions but I hope nobody makes decisions about the level of risk they will take with an escort (or personal lives for that matter) based on that poll.
It looks like I am not going to take the risk anymore. With the info gathered, there seems to be a very small risk involved in terms of HIV...

However, even that small risk has proven to be NOT WORTH for myself. My lapse in judgement really cost in anxiety that can only be diffused by a clean 3-month window test.

Hi g555

It is really hard to work out the exact risk with the event you describe as there are so many factors that need to be considered.

You’re correct that bbbj are seen as a high risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis for both the giver and receiver. What this means is that there is good evidence that these infections can be passed to either person with a bbbj.

What you have to remember is that the person needs to have the infection for this to be possible and that even if they do have the infection it doesn’t mean it will always pass the first time they have sex.

In regard to HIV risk we have not been seeing HIV passing to people who receive oral sex. For the people giving oral sex we have seen HIV transmission take place but the risk is believed to be low when compared to unprotected vaginal or anal sex.

Given from what you have written it sounds like you are uncomfortable with what happened. Everyone is different in regard to the amount of risk they are comfortable in taking. From our experience at the clinic one of the big factors is whether someone has a steady partner.

If after a sexual encounter someone feels anxious or is unhappy with the level of risk they took it would be good to have a look at your risk tolerance. Here is a link talk about risk tolerance.

Hi g555

This is a common thing we see in the clinic. It can be a hard 3 months while people wait for their test results to come in even if the risk was really low.

We have found it helpful for people to come into the clinic and have a chat with us. We usually chat about the actual risk and help the person use some anxiety reducing techniques while they wait for testing.

If HIV is your main worry I would suggest coming to one of the Vancouver clinics as we are using a new HIV test for men that is about 90% accurate by 2 weeks.
