What's cooking in Newton?

I'm looking to find a decent but inexpensive and casual place to meet a buddy for lunch in the Newton area.

Maybe one of those mom and pop Chinese restaurants with fifteen lunch special choices for $4.95? Or possibly a Vietnamese Pho joint?

I don't know the area at all, but somewhere between 68 - 80 Ave and 120 - 140 St. would be most convenient, geographically speaking.

Any suggestions?

If you’re looking for a cheap Chinese restaurant in the Newton area there are two that are decent. One is called Wings Garden (address is 13393 – 72nd Ave). They have decent Chinese food with combination plates that are in the $5 range. Fairly large portions. The other Chinese restaurant is a combination Chinese / Vietnamese restaurant called Wing Yuen (address 13655 – 72nd Ave). They have Pho noodles…

If you like sushi, there’s a pretty good place called Toyko Sushi (address #1101, 7360 – 137th Street). It’s two doors down from Paradise Massage so you can eat your lunch and watch all the pooners entering or leaving the place…
