pardner, i'm gonna stick my neck out here, and suggest to you that you shouldn't be paying the neighbour kid anything... you should be taking the cat to the place where they euthanize animals and pay whatever they charge. you are no longer prolonging the poor animal's life... you are prolonging its DEATH. man up and do your duty as a responsible pet owner. jes sayin'

I have to agree a little, as horrible as it sounds, the cat seems like it's really suffering I have a beloved cat too and I would be devastated if she were going through that. I wish humans had that option too, I feel like we are treating animals more humanely than we treat our own, it's sad really...even though I place animals on a higher level than humans hehe

I'd go with a kennel. Might cost more but you know it will be done with no complications. She might not be as reliable and you don't want your cat missing its meds. Cats do like a bit of socializing despite being somewhat aloof, so I think that it would benefit from being around other people/cats rather than being alone except for maybe an hour a day.

I agree with Larry. Besides I wouldn't trust a 12 year old enough to have access to where I lived.

Jeez, what does everyone have against 12 year olds... Picture yourself back in grade 7. Were you seriously not responsible enough to take care of a neighbours cat at that age? I'd personally be more trusting of them at that age, in this situation, than when they were a bit older... 16-18
