Trades is good idea, less and less people taking them and more and more demand for qualified skilled people...

Look at someone like Holmes on Homes, bet he is pullng in 6 figures no problems and lots paid in cash...

Most trades are only dangerous if you don't know what you are doing...

All the girls love when you can fix something for them...

If you do good work and are honest, you basically get blank cheques from people...

do what you love

As other posters have already mentioned ... "do what you love." You will always find a way to make money, as long as you are motivated. There is nothing worse than going into a career for just the money only later to find out how miserable the career can make you. Successful people usually become successful because they have passion for their work. Also, happy people are happy because they love all aspects of their life including their job (think about it ... you're going to spend at least one third of your work week at your job, so you might as well enjoy it). I chose my career path for the money, and I frickn' hate it. Luckily, I had a hobby I enjoyed and pursued it to earn money on the side. That hobby is going to end up being my early retirement fund which will allow me to kiss my miserable career good-bye.
