I went to see Weird Al's "Bad Hair Tour" and before you make fun of me.. watch this
at least now you'll have his song stuck in your head all day.
I think his satirical songs may be partially responsible for my own tendency to view popular media and maintain a critical perspective (a catchy tune does not good lyrics make)
To be honest it was a small show and I don't remember much of the performance I think partially because I temporarily lost my mind after running in to Al himself when we were picking up tickets, but I do remember my mom dragging me out to the side of the theatre at the end of the night to get a signature from the bass player.. that was pretty awesome of her.

jefferson airplane...

they had a primitive version of a light show (at that time the leading edge) consisting of coloured oil drops in a bed of water with a light shone through from beneath, then projected onto a giant backdrop behind the band

gracey slick belted out 'white rabbit' which was at the top of the charts at that time

for a country boy from south pork fork, it was quite a performance, possibly life changing!

Billy Idol - Charmed Life Tour in the Montreal Forum

Billy had just recovered from his almost fatal motorcycle accident and he was still walking with a cane. So it was a rather pedestrian concert and to add insult to injury, no Steve Stevens - his virtuoso sidekick guitarist who left him after the previous album. I still have the official concert T-shirt. Luckily, years later I finally got to see them together at a concert in the River Rock Casino.

Neil Young Harvest Tour and sat up in the rafters of the Pacific Coliseum.

Dropped a lit joint on my Jean Jacket that burnt multiple holes in it. From that aspect, it was a memorable night.

Punk shows in bars, do those count? Cant even remember their names.

First actual concert would have been either Tool or Warped Tour. Not sure which was first.

Well went to a rave in Ottawa that had De La Soul sing with the dj for an hour. Not sure if that counts either.

Dammit my memory sucks!

Anybody remember going to the Cave to see some of the groups like the Temptations, Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes, Tower of Power etc. ?Amazing place with a long history of great acts. I just love small venues with great acts. Lately the Orpheum has hosted a number of great acts like the "Dukes of September" (Donald Fegen, Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald) and then Stevie Winwood

U2.........it was amazing from every angle!!!
Which tour? U2 is one of those bands that just keeps getting better when you see them live. From the two times I have seen them in BC Place and the one time in the Garage there has been a huge improvement in sound and video. U2 360 twenty rows from the stage was crazy. You could feel the music go up through the floor into your body at the same time as you heard it. Talk about a full body experience

IMHO it's Edge who is like a Mad Scientist when it comes to creating new sounds on his customized Marshall Amps.

The Tea Party at the Commadore. 20 songs over 3 hours as their opener didn't show. A good quarter has inserts. I love the Commadore, but i don't like the "scenery" around it. I was a little scared as my senses were out of whack. It was damn good concert.

Earth, Wind & Fire

First Concert?? When I was a kid, my parents brought me along to a Earth, Wind & Fire Concert. The late Maurice White was awesome. :thumb:

These days their hit song " After The Love Is Gone " in the 70's could very well be the theme song of Viagra. :pound:

My older sisters were nuts when it came to teen idol Shaun Cassidy during those times. Going to his concerts and watching and reading Hardy Boys. Never imagined decades later, I'll go nuts over Shaun's hot niece Katie Cassidy. lol :) :)

I so hate you for this...

Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz tour summer 1981 got to see Randy Rhoads doing Crazy Train before he died
And now I hate you more... :D

Technically, my parents dragged me to see Kenny Rogers, and on another occasion, Ricky Skaggs, but I consider my first real experience seeing Aerosmith on the Pump Tour, with Skid Row opening. And the rest is history. Went to 7 concerts last year, already going to 1 this year...
