I am off to Edmonton for a few days, I am wondering what I should do? I haven't been to Edmonton since I was a kid.

Any good restaurants I should try out? I am a fan of Asian food. (not the chicken ball type). It also have to be a place where I could go by myself. So no french restaurants for two please.

Anything I should check out other than West Edmonton mall? I am also thinking of Whyte Avenue.

And of course any advice on cutting down my must see SP list? Just to give a hand, some of my ATFs are Ava Jones, Chrystal, Heidi Virgin, Keissy Hennessey, etc. I never been to a MP before, I am a little nervous about going but I will give it a try. I prefer the girl next door to the porn star look. Charm, intelligence and looks go hand and hand for me. Any ideas?

Muttart Conservatory is cool place to visit for an hour or two. Find out when they have tours with a naturalist adds to experience plus it's only $12 or so for admission. Telus Science Center is also interesting place and take in an IMAX movie. The Ultimate Wave Tahiti is worth seeing.

Four of my personal SP recommendations would be Holly (Supreme), Adrianna (Revive), Katya (Extreme Body Care) and Mya Bliss (independent). The other Edmonton pooners will have their own recommendations and they'll be good ones.

For everything else, especially the Asian restaurants, I suggest checking out a website called connect2edmonton for more info. Same as with any internet forum, there's great info to be found, but you have to root through some stupid shit.

Edmonton is a good place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there, lol. Not a lot of world-class tourist attractions. You can do the Mall, walk along Whyte Ave (although in any other city, its just a street, nothing special), rent a bike and ride the trails in the river valley (seriously, they go for a couple hundred KM, winding through different parks etc), the Muttart, the Alberta Museum is VERY small and not so great, you could tour the Legislature though, ummmmmm...... hmmmmmm..... go to the MEC, lol. Good bars on Whyte if you are alone - its pretty much the only strip in town where you can walk from bar to bar to bar, with some great restaurants sprinkled in between.

Great place to shop is the Manulife building all higher end shops. As for Chinese food I would suggest Golden Rice Bowl or Chi For Tea

Not sure how broad your definition of "Asian" food is, but if you like Japanese I would go to Mikado. Just tried a new South African Indian buffet called Narayanni's which might be the best Indian buffet in town. It's also close to Whyte Avenue so if you go there you should give it a try. Not sure what your tastes in Chinese food are, but Edmonton doesn't have a lot of high end Chinese restaurants despite the abundant selection. If pressed to pick a high end Chinese restaurant I would say Ruby Dragon downtown. If you want a nice greasy spoon type, Spicy Garden in Chinatown is yummy. For Vietnamese pho, go to Pho Tau Bay, also in the Chinatown area.

Edmonton is more of a nice place to live than a compelling tourist destination, much like FloridaGuy said. I would probably say one day at West Edmonton Mall, another day Whyte Avenue / University area, another day downtown. If you want to go the whole-nine-yards tourist thing, you could check out Fort Edmonton, Muttart Conservatory, the Art Gallery, Alberta Museum.

Shawna (indy) is my ATF, though she is more the glamour look than girl next door (www.shawnaxoxo.com). Beautiful, charming and intelligent, so check check check.

Cherry @ 50th Street Massage is more the girl next door type looks-wise. When she is on her game she is amazing.

Thanks for the information guys.

I am sure you guys know this but Edmonton has an embarrassment of riches in terms of SPs. From the MP scene, to ind. locals to SP on tour. My head was going around in circles trying to decide who to see. I decide to stay out of the MPs and I am going with Shawna, Nikki Cox and Cameron Woods. It should be fun week.

Also thanks for all the ideas on where to go and what to eat. I am going to try that Mikado. The menu looks very good. I may stop in at Narayanni, I never tried South African food before.
