I see it too. It seems every time Ava posts there's some sort of glitch. Like in some of her posts the reply box is her signature and in others you can't see people's replies if they posted after her.

I saw a couple similar things. In this thread :https://perb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=81931, you can see the last line from my reply after an Avarice post stuck into Avarice`s post. Both baby_gurl and my post following Avarice`s are missing.

Looking at the HTML, it looks to me like Avarice`s signature is screwing things up. There`s some broken HTML the forum software doesn`t know what to do with.

Avarice, are you putting any funny characters in your sig?

The problem is the the VB code. This forum wasn't made by Fred etc. It is a premade template.

Even if Fred does know how to fix the code it would take some effort and work. First he has to look to find the problem in the code and then type in a new one. The problem probably exists in more then one spot.

It is best if it is left alone and you pick a new handle.

For more info http://www.vbulletin.com

There are a lot of mods etc. you can make to a forum.

I haven't done much web work in a long time but I have used these forums before. I could do it though.

MODS do not have access to the pages. That is something done on the inside by downloading the data and then uploading it back up.

There's no VB code in vBulletin. It's a PHP application.

It may be a vulnerability in the PHP code - evidenced by a problem with Avarice's account. A well build application should be protected from things that can break it. By all appearances that bad data is in her sig from looking at the generated HTML. She says she doesn't have a sig, but I can see the sig when I look at the source code. I ***'d out references to Ava since she likely doesn't want it published.

<a --="" ;="" ]="Enter a list item.\r\nLeave the box empty or press 'Cancel' to complete the list:" insert_all="" vbphrase[="" click_quick_reply_icon="" iespell_not_installed="" complete_image_verification="" enter_email_link="" enter_image_url="" enter_link_url="" message_too_short="" must_enter_subject="" enter_list_item="" points:="" bullet="" with="" list="" a="" for="" blank="" leave="" or="" list,="" alphabetical="" an="" enter="" numbered="" 1="" href="http://****.escortdiva.com"><img src="http://****.escortdiva.com/banners/****-1.jpg"border="0"></a>

If the problem was with the template, you'd get a similar issue with any sig. It definitely has to do with bad data in Avarice's account record.

There's nothing complicated about the programming mistake at all. It's just some really basic HTML errors when someone(?) created the HTML for that particular signature tag. The bugs do not look like corrupted programming code, etc. The HTML code looks like that part of it was manually done and done when someone was having a really bad day!

(apostraphes mixed up with quotes, center tags that start and don't end, spaces missing, etc, etc).

Yes, I see it the way you've described as well. But now, everytime Avarice posts, it messes up the thread in a new interesting way.
Okay. That was me trying to reply to Miss Bijou's original post in this thread. And the result is just bizarre.

Great. More reasons for people to hate on me.

If it's not the slander spread by a stalker..then it's fucked up codes that make anything I post fuck up every thread.

Well that will really make me even more popular here than I was before.
Well, until someone finds some way to sort this out, it might be best for you to take SexyBoy's advice and just not reply to threads for a while.

Indeed. This is what I was saying. Actually looks like maybe some javascript was pasted in and the forum software unsuccessfully tried to strip it out. Really, the forum software shouldn't be as vulnerable as that, but that's open source for you.

Okay. This might work. Should work. Hopefully works.

Avarice, click on the button in my profile. Link is below. This should reset your signature to "test" and hopefully resolve your posting issues. You should then be able to edit to say whatever you want. You have to be signed in for this to work.

Warning: It will reset anyone`s signature, so don`t click on it unless you want your profile to say "test". I`m serious. Don`t come complaining to me if you are too curious.

This is the only way I can think of fixing it without access to the database.

Yes, actually. We've done 22 installations of vBulletin and PHPBB for clients to date.

It is not a template or programming issue.

vBulletin is not written in vb (the proprietary posting proxy code as opposed to vbscript or vb.net). It is usually enabled to prevent script injection - and in this case is actually disabled for sigs and HTML is on - this is what is allowed the issue to happen. Bad code in Ava's sig. I will Paypal you $100 if I'm wrong about this. I'm serious.

I provided Avarice with likely fix - a script to reset her signature field. If she ever gets around to trying it, all the posts should go back to normal. Funnily enough, the thing that allows Ava to post bad code is precisely what allows me to inject a script that can fix it.
